Surgeons in York, PA - glowing reviews

So I had asked MONTHS ago about recommendations for two different types of surgeons in York and I wanted to do a quick update on my surgeries. ?All three of these surgeons work at both York and Memorial hospitals.

The first surgeon I saw was a general surgeon for an acid reflux surgery. ?His name was Dr. Chris Evans and I really liked him. ?Unfortunately, he was unable to perform the surgery for me (I had an atypical surgery that he wasn't comfortable with).

Pros- friendly, well informed, doesn't talk down to you, willing to spend extra time for questions, called around to find me a new surgeon and actually had a conference about my case with the new guy (big thumbs up on this one)

Cons - his nurse is an idiot, long waits in his office

The second surgeon I saw that performed the surgery was Dr. Ignacio Prats. ?LOVED HIM. ?

Pros- very friendly, funny, well informed above and beyond what I had done extensive research on, listened to my concerns, was able to work out a plan for me, was willing to speak to my plasic surgeon in terms of my next surgery, did a fantastic job on the surgery itself (no complications), ?great follow up, great support and nursing staff

Cons - super long waits to get in to see him, and really long waiting room waits

My final review was my plastic surgeon. ?His name is Dr. Michael Born. ?He performed a breast reduction on me and I LOVE the results.

Pros - His work is meticulous, I got glowing reviews from the Memorial Hospital staff (and some ladies that had reductions with him), he takes his time and I had no bruising and my incisions are healing up beautifully, he went over all my options and did not make me feel stupid for addressing my concerns, his staff is fantastic.

Cons - he went out of town starting the day after my surgery and a resident pulled my drains. ?It was painful. ??

?

Just wanted to give some information to my local ladies in case any of you were looking into any types of surgeries.

Thanks!!?

  • Wow! ?You look so great! ?Such a wondeful improvement. ?You look about 20 pounds lighter! ?Must feel good to not have all of that weight out front! ?Good luck with your recovery!
  • You look fantastic!  Awesome pic!  I remember your post awhile back asking for recs for surgeons in York. I work at Memorial as an RN and work with Dr. Evans and Dr. Prats. I actually go to the same church as Dr. Prats and have gone on a mission trip to India with him.  He's awesome and so friendly.  He is the most down-to-earth surgeon you'll ever meet!  I'm glad you had a great experience. I don't know Dr. Born but his son worked as a nursing assistant in our ICU a few years back.  His son was always a good worker and really nice.

I think even if Dr. Born was in town a resident would have still pulled your drain and it would have probably hurt no matter who pulled the drain. Memorial is a teaching hospital.  Did they give you any pain meds prior to pulling the drain?  Sorry it hurt so much.

     You look fabulous!
