Hey ladies.
We picked our HM location (finally!). Since I got laid off and all, we decided to stay pretty local. We are going to Las Vegas for 5 days 4 nights in the beginning of June. Im going through the pricing and booking now.
Anyone been to Vegas?
We are thinking of staying at either the Bellagio or Flamingo. We want to stay in the center of the strip.
What would you suggust to go see? (Shows, Attractions, Casinos.. etc) I have a list of things to that we think are interesting and would enjoy seeing. We are not gamblers so we are not gonna be in the casinos for very long but maybe one night.
How much to bring for food? Any suggested restaurants?
Sorry this is all new and exciting to me!
Thanks ladies!
Re: Picked HM Location! (vegas)
Congrats on picking a place. I love Vegas. I've stayed at the Bellagio and I loved it. The hotel is just beautiful and the beds are so comfy.
My fave show of all time is O. We also saw Zumanity but O was so much better.
we ate at the Top of the World restaurant at the stratosphere. The food was good but not out of this world. The view was amazing, though.
I honestly can't remember how much we spent as it was almost 2 years ago so not much help there.
DH did win about $300 on a slot machine. We really didn't gamble a lot but that was nice bc we used the money to see an extra show.
We also did the gondola ride at the Venetian and rode the roller coaster at NY NY hotel. There is a mall at Caesars Palace that we really enjoyed, too. And the nice thing is you don't even have to walk outside (from the Bellagio) to get to it... Well you walk outside for like 30 seconds.
we stayed at the Mirage last summer, we were there for his cousin's wedding.. The room was really nice, but honestly we weren't in it very much.
Even if you don't want to gamble, sign up for the membership cards just for the coupon books they give you. ?(discounts on meals and shows, coupons for free drinks)
?The gondola ride in the Venetian was really beautiful.?
Watch the fountains at the Bellagio at night. Beautiful!!!
we saw Penn and Teller! And Zumanity (I thought it was pretty good)
We also took a day trip to Hoover Dam
We did the rides at the top of the Stratosphere.
went to "old" Vegas and wandered around there.
We spent a lot of time in the pool at the Mirage too. It was a lot of fun.??
The Cafe in Paris had really good food and the buffet at the Mirage was very tasty and pretty reasonably priced. The buffet at the Bellagio was good too. ?I have a lot of Vegas pics in my facebook?
Yay for Vegas! I haven't been for a year or so, but I definitely have some recommendations:
-Across the street from Circus is a little hut called "Last Minute Tickets" or something similar. You can get show tickets for 1/2 price, and the seats I was able to get to the Cirque de Soleil show at the Wynn were amazing!
-The brunch buffett at the Paris is great - but a bit spendy. However, it is all you can eat (seafood, crepes, good stuff) and all you can drink champagne. Expect a line to get in, but no wait for food once you are seated.
-The Bellagio is lovely and though I have never stayed there I have wanted to. They have lovely fountain shows a few times every hour that are great!
I stayed at the Luxor when I was there. I'd recommend seeing any of the Cirque de Soleil shows - they are incredible.
It's going to be extremely hot when you go, so plan on pool time, light colored clothing and keep water on you at all times to stay hydrated.
If you want an excursion, you can book a trip to the Hoover Dam.

Thanks for all the info ladies!
I showed DH the pricing and paperwork. He wants to wing it on a lot of stuff to do and book when we get there.
