Happy Earth Day

As an environmentalist (both in my career and home-life), I felt it was my duty to wish you all a Happy Earth Day! :)

Do you have any events planned? - cleanups, planting trees, etc.!

Re: Happy Earth Day

  • Happy Earth Day! No special events planned. I'm carpooling tonight...does that count?  ha ha
  • Happy Earth Day.
  • Happy Earth Day!

GWU has tree planting this afternoon so I may go and partake in the festivities. I wore a skirt today thought, sooo it might not be such a great idea but whatever haha!

  • All of the students where I work reused/recycled items to make something new. They are all on display and they really worked hard. They also decorated paper shopping bags that will be used for groceries at Shop Rite. I am hoping to car pool this evening too.
  • Jaci, do you work for GW, or just in that general vicinity? I went to undergrad there, and LOOOOVED it!
  • hey erin! yah i work for aramark but we are contracted with GW. so i technically work for both haha. i am right on campus and i love it so far! :)

oh and my other earth day thing is i am going to see earth tonight with my roomie, i am soooo excited to see this documentary!

  • Jaci, that's great! I must say - I was always very happy with my meal choices at college :)

I can't wait to see that film, too! I love the little ducks that jump out of their nest to follow mama to the water. SUPER cute :)

  • so very cute right??!!

and ps you will appreciate this, i just got my GWorld card, that'll bring you back to college huh? haha

  • We tease my mom and say that Earth Day is her favorite holiday.  She always tells us the story of the very first Earth Day celebration that took place in Philly in 1970 that she and my dad went to.  They were a couple of dirty hippies.  Hahahaha.  My dad was the first person I ever knew who recycled, before it was mandatory and before there was curbside pick up.  He would go drop it all off every few weeks at a recycling center.

My younger daughter did this project over Easter break, she was so proud of herself.  It was cute.
