Im not sure how to explain this but here it goes....
ive heard that you should go off your bc for a month or so before you actually want to concieve to have your body readjust- is this true?
i have a doc appt with my new gyno on june 23. if i continue to take the ring, i would be taking it out for good june 22. if i go a month before that it would be out may 25.
should i take it out may 25 and let my body adjust for the a month or will it be ok to take it out june 22. Im also getting my pap done on the 23.
does that make sense?

Re: for my ttc ladies...
That's exactly our feeling now. Especially since the biospies I have had over the past few years are going to make it harder to get pregnant and possibly stay pregnant.
I'm going to stop the beginning of may. Don't remember the exact date, I think it is the 9th. I have two more weeks left of pills before I stop.
Kim - your best bet is probably to call your doctor's office and ask to speak to a nurse with some of your questions and find out the perspective of your GYN that way.
That being said...everyone's body reacts differently to coming off hormonal BC. Some will have regular cycles and ovulate right away, other women take up to a year to start ovulating again. So, it's something you really do need to discuss with your own physician.

I would just do what your confortable with. Stop this month or next it wont hurt your body any I wouldnt think. Just know that is doesnt always take 3 months or whatever they say to get the hormones out of your body. If you want to wait until after your appointment to get pregnant just be safe and just protection until then. If you dont care take your chances on being pregnant when you get to the doctor.
I have a friend who is 11 weeks pregnant and got pregnant the first month of BC, her doc told her she would need fertitly drugs and it takes 3 months of BC to get out of your system...false! It can happen anytime doesnt matter when you come off it....some people take longer some dont. HTH a little.
Kim - I understand that but all we can give is opinions, not medical advice. Also, as I mentioned in my first post, I don't know anyting about the ring so I'm not any help in that.
Still, going off BC is always your choice. If you want to go off and don't want to risk getting pg right away, just use condoms until you actually want to TTC.

Hey Kim.
Some women can get PG right away after going off of the pill, so I would not have unprotected sex right after getting off of BC if you are not totally ready.
If you are little nervous and want to wait 1-3 months before trying, then use condoms.
personally if I were on the pill and got off, I would go right away to "free love"
Nuvaring is just like the pill, it just slowly releases the hormone, without your having to remember to take the pill.
Have fun trying!
We are gonna try a year from now!
