need a recipe for black beans
I have a ham hock and some dried black beans i'd like to make something with. Anyone have a recipe they like?
for what it's worth, i'd rather it be like a pot of beans and not bean soup but i'll take suggestions for either

Black Bean Soup (http://ellysaysopa.com)
I tried to post the recipe on here, but the format was all weird. I know you dont want a soup, but this flavor is SO GOOD. And you can make more like a "pot of beans"...the directions say to take about half of the soup and use an immersion blender to thin it out, then add it back to the rest...you could skip that I would think and it would be more whole beans and not so thin. You could adjust the recipe however...I just really loved how all the flavors came together.
I do them just like I do pintos.
Soak and rinse the beans. Put beans and ham hock in crockpot filled with water and let it cook all day. Salt and pepper (or taco seasoning) when close to being done.
