xp: Denver nestie needs your help!!

I posted on the Dallas Bump board, but I thought this board might be a bit more active.  Here is my original post:

Hi Ladies!  I have a friend that lives in Dallas in/near the Casa Linda neighborhood.  For her birthday, I would like to send her on a little day of pampering.  So, my thought was to get her gift certificates for:

Coffe - Starbucks

Spa - This is where you ladies come in

Book store - Barnes & Noble??

Lunch - Again, I could use your help here

I'd like to find a nice spa/salon relatively close to her neighborhood that she could go to for a mani/pedi.  This does not need to be top of the line, but I'd like it to be nicer than the run-of-the-mill nail salon.  She has mentioned in the past about going to Bliss Spa, but I have no idea where that is in relation to her home??  I'm all for purchasing her a gift card to Bliss, but I'd like to find something conveniently located so she doesn't have to drive across the city.  If Bliss is anywhere near Casa Linda, maybe that would work.

Also, could anyone suggest a book store, and/or cafe or deli near her neighborhood (or the salon of choice)?

My friend has excellent taste (far better than me), so I hate to go shopping and just buy her something for her birthday.  I thought this would be a way to get her out to enjoy a day to herself for her birthday.

Any help would be much appreciated!

  • This one is fairly close and got good reviews online: http://www.purespaandsalon.com/

Looks like the Bliss spa is pretty far from her.

Edit: Actually Bliss really isn't that far. Nothing is really "close" in Dallas.

  • I would LOVE a GC to Bliss and Casa Linda isn't far of a drive at all.  What a great friend you are to do something so nice.
  • Bliss Spa isn't that far from her.  That would be good or the Pure Spa already posted.  Also, I have heard the Ritz-Carlton Spa has excellent deals.

As for lunch you might try The Porch or Bread Winners.  Both are good lunch spots.

Of those things that you posted the only thing really in Casa Linda is Starbucks.  Dallas is pretty easy to get around, though so I think all of your ideas are excellent.
