Poll: Tipping your hairdresser

Do you normally tip them the 15-20%?

How much do you normally tip them?

Re: Poll: Tipping your hairdresser

  • My girl back in Cali: $20

The girl who cut my hair in AZ: $10

I have no idea how much you're suppose to tip. So I might be under tipping. :/

  • I give my guy $20. ?I have been seeing him for 15 years and that's just what I give. ?Not sure if that is "proper" but whatever. ?He charges me $85 for partial highlights and a cut, and I give him $105.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

Same here. My girl charges me the same rates and I give the same. I have been going to her for 12 years and that is about 20%.

  • El cheapo here. I give $5 extra. I only get a cut so I am in and out. I've been going to him for years and he makes his own prices so I figure if he wants more he will charge more.
  • If I am happy with what they did I give 20% (Highlights or weave plus cut)

This also keeps me from getting my hair done, because I don't want to tip. Having worked for tips.... I know that people can suck! LOL!!

(I need a new hair person.... mine no longer works at the salon I go to.... well... I need a new salon.... bleh!)

  • I haven't been going to my hairdresser for that long, but I usually tip about $10-15 dollars depending on what I asked her to do and whether I am happy with the service.  Last time I told her I wanted "side swept bangs" and she did some funkyness to my hair so she only got $10 Devil.
