Hernia surgeon?

Can anyone recommend a Dr. for hernia surgery?

Thanks.

Re: Hernia surgeon?

  • My brother just had surgery for an umbilical hernia.  The dr. even did a little plastic surgery so his belly button would look *normal*.  He's located in Frisco.  If you're interested, I'll ask what his name was.
  • I had to have hernia surgery about 3 years ago. Mine was a weird case (dr's words!) b/c my fallopian tube was flipped upside down and that was what was "sticking out" to cause the hernia. I had to have a laproscopic surgeon and an ob/gyn in the room to do the surgery combined. But they were both great, everything went well, and I'm prego now- so things must have been put back in the right place ;) My ob/gyn has since moved to the NY Mayo clinic, but the lapro surgeon is still there, I think. She was out of Harris Methodist HEB. If that isn't too far, I can look back in my med records and get her info for ya. She was really great, recovery was easy- maybe 3-4 days tops, and I have the smallest little scar on my belly button and that's it.?
  • Is this for peds or for an adult?  We have a Pediatric Surgeon we refer our patients to all of the time.
  • Thanks - it's for my husband.  I'll take any recs - the distance really doesn't matter as long as they are good.

    Thanks.
