Did you turn your A/C on this wknd?

I fought turning it on for a long time, but when DH came home from work yesterday, and the house was 80 degrees, Iwas convinced and conceded. Boo high electric bills!

Re: Did you turn your A/C on this wknd?

  • We had to turn ours on last night or we never would have gotten to sleep.  I'm sure it will go off again in a day or two (or at least I hope).

  • nope!  We suffered through the hot weather.  I loved every second of it! hehe
  • Heck yeah I did.  When my fat thighs are sweating together and I can't sleep, it's time to turn on - no matter what the calendar says.
  • Yeah we caved and turned it on....we where getting ready to out Saturday night and I caved when I got out of the shower and was sweating to death.  I'm still trying to get over the fact that I have my AC on it APIL!!!!!!!!
  • We held out until last night.  We really werent home most of the weekend, so we were ok with open windows and ceiling fans on.  when we were finally home last night, dh decided it to put the AC on, so glad we did.  we turned it off for the day and opened the windows back up, and will probably turn it back on after we get home tonight.
  • We came home yesterday and the house was up to 86 degrees.  We both agreed that it needed to be turned on or else we wouldn't be able to sleep.
  • We had it on yesterday morning at 10.  I can't stand drying my hair when it's so hot and sticky in the house, so on it went.  Plus we have a dog, so I felt terrible leaving him at home with no air!  DH turned the air on on Saturday, which i was a bit upset about.
  • Nope. We spent saturday out of the house and sunday outside doing yardwork, so it would have been a waste.

Our house holds out the heat so well in this type of weather. The downstairs stays nice and cool as long as the nights are chilly. The upstairs wasn't anything a fan couldn't handle once the sun went down.

  • The thought crossed my mind numerous times, but I held out.
  • We sure did. Our poor dog was so hot as was our son. ?Julian was up all night long because the air couldn't catch up, (since it was off all day long), and he just couldn't get to sleep. ?It never felt cool in our house. ?I felt so bad.
  • We did the window and fan thing...We live down the shore so there is always some sort of breeze and it's usually a little cooler.  My parents house was super hot though...But my mom won't turn the air on until middle to late May...She's old school.
  • Around 3 pm yesterday when I thought I was suffering from heat stroke, I decided to turn on the AC.  Amazingly enough my heat stroke was healed!!!
  • We tried to and it was not working!!  we had the ac guy come out this morning.
  • Yep - we turned ours on as soon as we got home yesterday. Our house was 88 degrees! I'm working from home today, so it's still on. we'll probably turn it off tomorrow night when it cools down.
  • yep! ?and it is still on :)

  • We turned ours on.  I don't feel too bad since ours is programmable it shuts off during the day (on weekdays).  Our main living space is on the 2nd floor so we had to.
