So DH and I were at the grocery store yesterday. He was in the deli line and I was in the produce section. There is a woman pushing a cart with a 3 year old in it and a man pushing another cart with a 9 month old or so in it. (Mind you this little girl was dressed in a t-shirt and jean shorts, it wasn't warm enough for that here yesterday, especially in a cold ass grocercy store).
Ok back to my story, these two people were together. I don't think they were married because the guy didn't have a wedding band on and she had on what looked like an e-ring. (Not that this matters, just an observation).
Anywho, the little boy sees the man and goes "DADDY, DADDY" trying to get his attention. The man then goes up to him and says "i'm not your dad, your father is in jail" I literally gasped and gave him an evil stare. I swear, I wanted to go up to him and kick him in the f'ing balls. Who the hell says that to any kid? Joking or not, that was just plain awful. Did I mention that I was at least 10-15 feet away from him and heard this plain as day? Yeah, I was so pissed and I didn't even know these people. If was ol' girl that ring would have been off my finger lickity split and I would have punched him myself. The kicker: She did NOT say a damn word. Just went back to looking at potatoes!
Re: Overheard at the store yesterday
Wow, that is terrible. Poor kids.
I totally thought it was warm enough for shorts and a t-shirt yesterday! It was over 80.
Well, you never said 7pm....and 3 yrs old is not a baby.
Edit - The 9 mo old had on shorts...you're right, not yet. Our weather is too weird, that is how people get sick.
