How stupid can they be?

I'm sorry but whoever thought that a low flying aircraft anywhere NEAR NYC was a good idea should lose their job.

Re: How stupid can they be?

  • I agree that it's insane to not have thought "Hmm, one of the most tragic recent events in our nation's history that scarred hundreds, if not thousands of people... Yeah, go ahead WITH THE PHOTO OP, but don't tell the Prez."

  • Just dumb, I have a feeling whoever ok'd it probably already lost their job.
  • This was all over the news yesterday. I get why people are so upset about it but from what I heard the Mayor's office had been notified. They should have been the one's to get the information out to all the businesses and people in the area.

  • I agreee, heads should roll.  Why would they do that to NYC?  They said on the Today Show this morning that the police were notified but were asked by the Obama administration not to alert the general public.

  • Let me tell you something, it was a horrible feeling.  I was in nyc on 9/11 and when I heard someone running through the office yesterday saying there is a low flying 747 in lower manhattan my heart stopped.  Blair works on the upper east side which is the opposite end of the city but I was still worried.  Buildings were being evacuated in both lower Manhattan and Jersey City.  What made it worse, police officers were telling people to go back inside and they were scared.  Someone on my local nest board was listening to a police scanner and she heard them saying to just tell people it was a drill to get them off the streets.  Real nice huh? And did they mention in the article that it was Air Force One and it was a photo op? Supposedly they informed all the local law enforcement but of course the local law enforcement is saying they never were informed.  People are irrate here.  Irrate.
