Trying not to be an AW .... wwyd?
So I technically graduated in December, but am walking this May. I am the first person to graduate college in my immediate family and only second in my extended family ( 2 generations). Needless to say to me this is a big accomplishment ( it took me forever) and I want to celebrate! Originally I wanted to have a grad party but there is so much going on this summer ( both of my sisters are graduating HS, the baby, family drama etc...) I just cant swing it. Is it tacky to send a graduation announcement? I just feel like that might say " hey look at me" when almost all of these people will be getting at least one baby shower invite for me...is this like summer of Zeesbride overload? Am I thinking about this too much?
Re: Trying not to be an AW .... wwyd?
this.
graduating from college is HUGE - you need to AW the hell out of it!
You should totally send it out!
I send out stuff to pretty much everyone we invited to our wedding... xmas cards, moving announcement, etc. I didn't think much of it, until our last trip to MI. A bunch of my mom's friends kept thanking me for keeping in touch with them and remembering to send them cards. They were seriously so happy that I send them cards and stuff. And some even made sure to give me their address so I could add them to our mailing list. I send out the costco photo cards with nothing personal written, and they still love them. Cracks me up. But maybe that's just my family.

Yeah I thought of that ssinca....except that my sisters and I have different Dads and mine REFUSES to go to anything where my mom will be present....the wedding was a struggle. So, although my dad's other family would be more than happy to come...not so much with my dad. Plus that would mean hosting 100+ people and we can't afford that right now
I didnt have a HS grad party for some of these similar reasons....apparently college is no different...lol
ah, yes - that would be an awkward turtle.
sorry:/
