OC is getting its own mud run!!
Splashing through the mud, losing shoes, and getting some exercise is good green fun. We were thrilled when we found out that OC is having its first mud run coming up on July 18. It's a popular race and will fill up fast, so register here.
The inaugural Orange County Mud Run (5K and 10K) and Eco Fest will take place on the private Hidden Valley Park behind Wild Rivers in Irvine.
It's an off-road obstacle course that includes a mud troth, tunnel crawls, mud pits, tire obstacles, cargo-net lagoon crawls, climbing walls and much more.
At the Eco Fest, there will be live entertainment, plenty of food for sale, free giveaways, and a Beer & Wine Garden. Rinse off area and changing tents will be available to get clean at the expo.
Registration and Eco Fest opens at 7 a.m.; 5K starts at 8:30 a.m.; 10K starts at 9:30 a.m.; and the Eco Kids Fun Mud Run starts at 11:30 a.m.
The 5K and 10K Mud Runs are for ages 13 and over. There's also an Eco Kids Mud Run for ages 12 and under (1 mile run for 8-12 year olds and half-mile run for 4-7 year olds).
