TEAM PINK!!!   Little Gabrielle is on her way!Big Smile We are so ecstatic!!!   We don't have a middle name yet.  I had a Hawaiian name that I really love, but since it is a Japanese tradition (at least in my DH's family) to give their child a Japanese middle name, we will instead do that.   Here are our choices so far: Emiko- blessed, beautiful child ("ko" means child) or just Emi     Masae- elegance/ beautiful (after my DH's cousin who passed away years ago, he was closed to her)   Kohana - little flower (sounds a little bit like Hawaiian, which I love)   Runi- little bunny j/k!!!   What do you guys think?

  • Hi, Kim! I honestly thought it was a boy, too.  Everyone around me had me convinced, and my dreams about having a boy seemed so real.  Even DH yesterday finally said he thought it was a boy, b/c everyone around us kept saying I looked like I am having a boy.  BUT we are just so happy and excited! I can't stopped smiling! Big Smile
  • Congrats, I love the name!

    Congrats, I love the name!

Thanks, Becki! Do you have a preference for middle name?

  • Yay! For a middle name I like the sound of Kohana but the meaning for Emiko

That's exactly how I feel about those 2 names!

  • I thought you were going to have a boy too!

I really like Emiko bc of the meaning

  • I like the meaning of Emiko (my god daughter has the same middle name!), but since her first name has a religious meaning to it,  then my vote is for  Kohana. Smile

  • Yey!! so much for the pattern :)

I love the names. Gabrielle was one of my top choices but DH didn't like it.

I really like all of the middle names. That's going to be a tough one to decide.?

  • a vagina WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (really is baby sushi) he he

I'm so happy for you J. I have to think about the names for a bit before I can choose a favorite. I kinda like them all.

  • OMG I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!! EEEEEE heheheheeee!

I love Kohana and Emiko, I say you can't go wrong with either of them :)

LOL! My DH announced to his friends last night that our baby does not have a penis, so she is a girl.  I thought that was also funny.

  • Thanks for all your feedback on the middle name.  My 2 favorites are actually Emiko and then Kohana.  Just like Robyn I like the sound of Kohana, but I do like the meaning of Emiko.  My DH actually came out with the first name.  The boy thinks he should be the one naming our kid, and he is very particular.  Fortunately, he came out with a nice name for a girl.  Phew!  You should have heard the name he thought of for a boy!!!! It was rather scarry.Surprise  He likes Emi for a middle name, but don't you ladies think since I am carrying the baby for 9 months I should at least have a say to what the middle name should be? I told him that, and then he became speechless.  Heh heh heh... And my MIL is on my side, so there! Devil
  • Yay for team pink! Congratulations. I thought you were having a boy too based on your dreams. But little girls rock! :)

I like Kohana best too. And I agree...you are the one carrying her...you should at least get to pick the middle name. :)

  • YAY!!! Congrats on your daughter!! I love both names, but prefer Kohana.
  • Yay! I guessed correct for once.  Congrats J!  I like how Kohana sounds with Gabrielle but I think Emi is cute too.
  • GIRLS EVERYWHERE!!!

I like Emiko best, but Kohana does sound good with Gabrielle. I love Japanese names. Miyazaki was on my middle name list for a boy. And neither one of us is Japanese!  Big Smile

it's not sad, I never posted it. it's my last name and with all the weirdos we been having lately I didn't want that much info out there.?

  • I vote Kohana, mama! Weeeee, a girl!!
  • WOO WOO!!! Congrats!!! That's so awesome!!

I vote for Kohana, because it goes with Gabriella really well and its Japanese and sounds Hawaiian. :)

  • Ya!  How very exciting! :-)  Congrats on your little girl!
  • Thanks for all your feedback! We have a few months to decide, so we'll see.
