Swine Flu News

Because my work relates to agriculture, I got the following tidbit by email this morning. Just thought I would share it. I don't understand why it's called the swine flu, but it isn't even really connected to pigs. Also - we have our first probable case of swine flu in Minnesota today -  in a town about 15 minutes from me - so I hope it doesn't spread. Ug.

Re: Swine Flu News

  • a baby died in a hospital in Houston today from it.  They had brought her over from Mexico.  My cousin lives close to FOrt Worth and they closed the schools in their town due to 4 cases at the highschool.
  • I havent head of any cases in GA yet...It just kinda scares me having a young one. I read this morning that Obama is saying he will do what it takes to get rid of it as soon as possible...so cross my fingers I pray he will. Right anyone who gets sick is saying they have it, so who knows how many people really do or not.

  • We've already put all our DRs on-call for any of their days off incase this thing hits us in FL.  We would be innundated and it would be devistating.  Hope this thing goes away.  My sister said she was sick this weekend and felt like she had the flu, again (she had her flu shot and got the flu, but not bad (just what the shot is supposed to do)).  She said as soon as she heard about the swine flu she hoped that wasn't what she had.  But she's all better now.
