What would you pay a house/dogsitter?
We are going OOT this weekend and a college student from church (her mom is my colleague) is staying at our house Thurs and Fri night to watch our dogs. Her mom said that when she house/dog sat for another family awhile back, they paid her $30 a day but that was "way too much" for us to pay since we are close friends.
I have no idea what to give her; the dogs usually stay with a friend of ours who won't accept payment from us. Any suggestions?
Re: What would you pay a house/dogsitter?
When we did this our friends paid for our groceries (we were there for a week) and gave us $100 for gas (it was a longer drive to work for both of us)and left us a check so we could get pizza one night. I would say either ask her what foods and drinks she likes and stock the house and maybe leave her $20-$30 for dinner out.
I have had this job before i thin $30 a day is fair, don't let her walk away with anything less than $50. Think ahead you may need her again.
