Okay, who else has bullpen woes?
I've watched my Marlins blow two straight ninth-inning leads. Makes me want to weep openly.
I can't be the only one that wants to knock some sense into some relief pitchers, am I?
Gah, barring an incredible performance in extra innings here, we're looking at a five-game losing streak. After starting 11-1.
Blech.
Re: Okay, who else has bullpen woes?
Me, me, me!!! Of course, that's pretty much the story of my baseball life...good hitting, crummy pitching (especially relievers). I'm an Indians fan...if you were a Marlins fan in '97, you know that you owe your first World Series win to our closer, Jose Mesa, who blew the save in the 9th inning of game 7.
This year's been a frustrating start, though. I thought we were supposed to have decent pitching for once!

I disagree with that. Last year the bullpen kept the O's in the season much longer than anyone expected. Then, the starting pitching fell apart and the bullpen was over worked and then fell apart.
DH is on a huge "bring back Chris Ray as the closer" campaign. He wishes all sorts of evil on George Sherrill.
Like I was saying.......we were 0-0 against Boston tonight going into the 9th. Enter Kerry Wood. Boston gets a 3-run home run. We lose.

Admittedly, I don't know all that much about baseball. But I thought it's been our hitting that always keeps us in the games. It always seems like we can score, but can't keep the other team from scoring.
Ditto. As much as I love Carp I think his time has passed.
