Brynne Elizabeth

Hi Everyone.

I had my baby Brynne Elizabeth Bolling Saturday, April 25th at 9.27 AM. She was 19.25 inches long,  7 lbs 7.8 ounces and the most beautiful little lady I have ever met in my life.

I brought her home from Harrisburg Hospital at 1:00 PM yesterday. We were home for a few hours when I noticed a change in her disposition and coloring. I took her temperature and found that she was running a fever. At 9:30PM her pediatrician told us to take her to the emergency room.

I took her to the ER at Harrisburg Hospital. We were there for about 20 minutes and left. The wait just to get triaged was four hours. The waiting room was the filithiest sess pool I have ever visited in my life. After trying to nurse her in a bathroom that was more filthy than a bathroom at an NYC subway station, we decided to leave and go to Holy Spirit Hospital.

We were able to walk into a private ER room at Holy Spirit immediately but still waited hours to see the doctor. After 6 hours in the ER room, at 5:00 AM Brynne was admitted to the NICU.

They tell me she will be okay, but will need to stay for 7-10 days to be on antibiotics.

Truthfully I am not doing very well. I'm home pumping to try and get my milk supply going, but I miss her so much! I just want her home with me, though I know she is where she needs to be and is in good care.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Emily

  • Congratulations!

What a long night!  You both will be in my prayers. Hopefully she will be home before you know it.

  • Aw Emily I'm sorry that you've had such a crazy weekend.  I hope the antibiotics kick in and that she's home soon!!
  • Awww...what a way to start out.  I'm so sorry to hear that baby Brynne is going through all this.  : (  I will keep you and her in my thoughts and prayers.  Hopefully those antibiotics work fast.
  • Congratulations on your little girl!  I am so, so sorry to hear about her rough start at home, but I hope everything is going much better at Holy Spirit and she's getting the care she needs.  She will be home before you know it!  You all will be in my thoughts for a speedy homecoming for Brynne.
  • Congrats on Baby Brynne's arrival!!  My thoughts and prayers are with her and your family at this time.   She is in a safe place and I will await the news of her coming home!!

  • Definitely have you and Brynne in my thoughts and prayers.  I know how hard it is, but the doctors and nurses in the NICU at Holy Spirit are awesome and she is definitely in good hands!  If you need to talk, please email me sunriz710 at gmail.com.  Also, if you need any help getting to/from the hospital, please me know...maybe I can help.  It was so hard to see Addy before I was cleared to drive.  (((HUGS))) to you!

  • I'm so sorry you and Brynne had such a rough start, but as you said she's where she needs to be right now and it sounds like she's in great hands...she will be home soon and hopefully it will be smoothly sailing from that point forward.  And congratulations on your baby girl!
  • Thank you all so much. DH and I are hanging in there. I'm going to see her in a few hours, but as of 10:00 PM she is doing well. She isn't moving her tongue correctly. I had a hard time nursing her in the hospital at home. She is hooked to a feeding tube now as she isn't bottle feeding well either. She needs to learn to move her tongue correctly.

I probably won't be nesting much, but will keep you updated. DH and I are trying to visit her as much as we can. I need to pump every two-three hours to keep up my milk supply, so we're still pretty crazy.

Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers! They mean a lot to me!

  • Congrats on your baby girl!  I am sorry to hear that she is in the NICU.  The antibiotics will kick in soon enough and she will be back home with her mommy and daddy!
  • Emily I'm sorry to hear your little one is in the NICU.  I hope things are going well and she is home with you soon.
