she wants to keep it simple - mani/pedis with a couple of friends and then dinner "somewhere cool, where we might see celebrities, mom."

where the hell am i going to take her?  where on earth would any celebrities she would want to run into go to dinner on a saturday night?

    Maybe look on TMZ and see where the Jonas Bros were last spotted on a Saturday night? I've really got nothing concrete. Good luck!

    I don't know what your budget is but Ketchup is a fun place and they might be excitied since the Hills and other shows have filmed inside there.

    Somewhere at the Grove in LA. I would always run into celebrities seeing movies on Friday nights.

    i am so outta the loop now, but lunch at the ivy a few years ago when i'd have out-of-towners visit guaranteed celebrities or at least industry types.  (it's not worth it for dinner).  there's a cute mani/pedi place just up robertson--http://www.bellacures.com/index.php (this is what inspired my tory burch flip-flop purchase last summer--i was wearing tennis shoes, and they had a walk-in available).  you can also window shop on robertson (lisa kline, kitson, madison, etc.) to maybe see [mostly female] celebrities.

    ketchup is on the list, because it's a place she's mentioned before.

    she's been to the ivy a few times before, so i don't really want to take her there again.  been there, done that, you know.  heh.

    huh.  tater's suggestion reminded me that it also has to be a vegetarian-friendly place.

    we're SO gonna end up in weho somewhere.
