Please check out my new ticker & a questions
So now that I am back on the mommy track (hoping it works out this time) I've been thinking about strollers since that is going to be my splurge item. I honestly don't care much about other baby stuff. Cribs all look the same to me and I think most kids are fine in one-sies until their 1 anyway.
So what strollers do the mom's on the board recommend? I am leaning towards a rear facing one, but they all seem very pricey. We have a car but use it one-two times a month so the stroller will primarily be used for walking around Forest Hills and doesn't really need to be a one that converts into a car seat.
Re: Please check out my new ticker & a questions
I'm just doing research on all the baby stuff myself so no advice there. However, I did recently pick up the latest issue of Fit Pregnancy and they have a "Buyer's Guide 2009" that rates all the new strollers, car seats, etc. So you might want to check it out.
Any way, Congratulations and best wishes for a Happy and Healthy 9 months.
Congratulations hocus, that is so exciting!
I can't really offer any advice about strollers, mine is limited to make sure it has a bar handle so that if you're carrying something you can still control it with one hand. (lol, they're probably all like that now)
Happy & Healthy 9!!
Congratulations! best wishes for a happy and healthy 9m!
In regards to Strollers, the Bob Revalution is great, just make sure you get a cup holder you never realize how much you want one until you don't have it.
Congrats!
My short list right now is the city mini (awsome one handed fold), micralite touro (light and I like how it looks), and the bumbleride flyer (which you can have facing out or in, just by moving the handle. It also folds easily, but two hands). I think we might go with the bumbleride.
I agree about the rest of the baby stuff. I have been procrastinating about all of that terribly. I'm afraid it is all going to sneak up on me though. I actually may forgo a crib altogether. I want to use a co-sleeper for a while, and then move to a Montessori style floor bed. although that may be crazy.

I've been looking at trading in my forward facing stroller for a reversible one. The bumbleride flyer can do either, with only the flip of the handle. One of the bugaboos (maybe the frog?) does that, too, but everybody that I know that has one hates that model.
There are others that are more expensive but you have to manually take the seat off and turn it around. You could look into a stroller that a friend of mine has, the kolcraft contours options, that you have to manually take the seat off of. It is basically a knock-off bugaboo, but it pushes really well and is very inexpensive, comparatively.
Peg Perego used to make the Uno, which had a reversible handle, I think you can still find it at online stores.
For convenience, the city mini is fantastic. You can't beat how it folds up, just pull the handle.
Again, good luck! And if you need any baby related FoHi info, let me know!
I have an uppababy vista. It's very pricey, but I used that as her night time bassinet as well. The stroller seat can be forward facing or rear facing. You can buy the car seat adapter for the peg perego, graco or chicco. The seat is high on the stroller. You can wheel it right up to a table instead of using a high chair.?I think it's pretty light. In fact I intend to get the uppbaby gluxe in a couple of weeks for going on the subway.?
I use the vista to jog, shop, walk the dogs, everything. If you have any questions, please let me know. ?
H&H 9 months to you!
As for the strollers, we have a Stroll-Air, it's an older model (a couple of years back, we got it from DH's cousin who used it with her youngest), and I love it. It can be rear-facing or front-facing, you do have to take the seat out for that though. I pretty much go everywhere with it, it's easy to maneuver. The only drawback is that it's fairly heavy (but I think most strollers like that are). So we also got a lightweight 11lb stroller for when I go to the city or when we travel.
And I absolutely agree with you on the baby stuff, I bought so much cutesy things for her, and honestly up until now she did not need half of that! Onesies and pants/socks are a great outfit!
Bubblegum Explosion
Congratulations! I don't have any stroller recommendations - but am right in your same position. We are *maybe* going to be TTC in August and I know the stroller is going to be our one big ticket item. Living sans car you need something really good.
Happy & Healthy 9m!!
