Mommies: Monitor Question

One of the only things we don't have yet is a baby monitor. I *think* I have it narrowed down to these two:

https://www.target.com/gp/detail.html?asin=B0009UBSFC&colid=1B6NG8D1AAOWE&coliid=I350V5OBNCCY0U&bckreg=baby

Which one of these would you choose and why? Or, if you have a different one you would rave about, please tell me what it is, and why you like it!?

There is NO selection one base of monitors, and off base they are weird and Japanese-y and have a different plug, so I am going to order one online.?

Re: Mommies: Monitor Question

  • i've read that a lot of ppl like the angel care one, but it just wasn't something i felt was neccessary. we ended up getting the fisher price sounds and lights monitor as a gift, and honestly, i don't like it at all. i'm ordering a sony one from target asap because it's highly rated in baby bargains and online. you might also post this on the dfw baby boards. there are a lot of moms on there who could probably give you more suggestions!

  • neither is one that we have, but I've heard very mixed reviews of the Angel Care. The biggest complaint is that it gives many false alarms.
  • We have the Angel Care monitor and love it!  The only false alarm we ever had with our first DD was when she started moving around the crib to the corners - so at that point, we just switched it to audio only.  We are using the monitor with DD #2 as well and have it set up in the PNP.  We will move it to the crib when we move her upstairs.  I cannot imagine not having this monitor and it has become more invaluable to me recently since DD #2 has been dealing with a nasty cough and ear infection :(
  • Mandarod - we have the Sony monitor for DD #1 now - we bought it at BRU and were able to use a 15% off coupon on it.  I think the price was better than at Target?
  • We have teh Angel Care monitor.... LOOOOVE it. MUCH peace of mind :)
No false alarms at all, yet... This is the one we have:

  • We have the Angel Care monitor.
  • We have the Sony.  Worked great since Day 1 and he is almost 3!

We have the Sony also, the one with the higher frequency and come with dual monitors. No complaints, always worked very well and never had any problems. We also purchased this one based on it's great rating in the Baby Bargains book.
