Swedesboro Girls:

I remember reading a post a while back about a nestie living in Swedesboro and commuting to Delaware.  If indeed this nestie exist, could you tell me how long it takes you to get to and from Delaware in morning traffic?  We are looking in the Swedesboro/Logan/Woolwich area and commuting and need a realistic timeframe. Thanks

Re: Swedesboro Girls:

  • I just moved to Swedesboro in November and although I do not commute to DE I just wanted to tell you that it is a great area to live. My DH and I just love how friendly everyone is and the town is soo cute.
  • I don't commute to Delaware but went there for prenatal care. I would say in the morning it took me about 30 minutes to get from Woolwich to Christiana Hospital in Newark taking back roads to the bridge. Not sure where you're going in Delaware bc that will make a  difference.

  • My dad used to do the commute and on the worst days it was probably about 45 min into downtown Wilmington.  The worst part is usually just crossing over the Delaware Memorial, but you can also take the Commodore Barry into PA and then cut South from the Swedesboro Area.  Sometimes that cuts out that major jam-up.

If you're looking for area recs still, we're in Carneys Point and have a few houses for sale in our development.  A lot of our neighbors work in DE.

  • I live in Swedesboro and we love it here. I commute to PA, using the Commodore Barry. I agree with Kat - that is a nice option to avoid some of that 95 merging backup you get when you go over the DE Memorial. I think it's like any commute - has it's good and bad days. At least that's how ours is. All depends what time you're driving and weather, etc. We leave pretty early so we don't have too many problems.
  • I'm in Logan and have to agree with the others that it takes about 30 minutes and it's a great area to live in! I work and live in the area and love it.

  • Thank You ladies for your input.  We leave at like 6:30 in the morning, so maybe the backup into DE wouldn't be so bad then.  I will have to do a trial run and see how far it would be.
  • I think you'd be fine leaving that early. We leave around 6:45 and miss all the traffic on 95 and the Blue Rte. I would assume you'd miss it in DE, too.
