Installation cost for water heater?
Anyone done this recently and have a ballpark figure for me. Lowe's is quoting me $250, which seems ridiculously high for just installation costs.
Re: Installation cost for water heater?
That sounds about what our plumber wanted to charge us 2 weeks ago. We called to get a ballpark figure to see if it was worth it to just have him come out and do the work. He wanted around $700 and that included the heater and installation. We ended up buying ourselves and having my Dad help us install it.
I think I'd definitely shop around though. Good luck to you.
I responded to you on facebook but does it include removal of the old, delivery, and any permits that you need?
Water heats have crazy high installation when it includes all of this. We bought on sale and with a coupon at Sears and it was still a lot since we got an 80 gallon tank.
GL!
Stacy's post reminded me of this . . as far as removal goes (if you end up having to worry about this) some Lowe's locations will get rid of the heater for you if you bought your new one there. The one near my parents does this. The one near us does not however. When we called to ask the girl recommended a scrap guy to us . . he came and picked it up and disposed of it all for free. I believe they take it and make money off of the scraps.
I also should point out our price was for a 50 gallon tank heater that did not have a fan of some sort on top (our first quote was for one with a fan on top because thats the kind the plumber thought we had and it was $1300 for heater/installation).
