Books

I have a habit of buying books, because if I really like it I like to think one day I may have a kid that likes to read and might like it too.

But some that are good, I wouldn't might sending out if anyone likes to read it, so when we start the book club I might look at my collection and offer to send someone a few of the books if they would like. (I tend to mainly want to keep the Classics)

Just wondering if anyone else was wanting to do the same.

BTW - I bought Twlight yesterday and I can't read the book I'm reading now fast enough.  I keep on looking over at it and thinking of Sphinxy I'm SO ready to start it.  Hopefully this weekend.  HA HA.

Re: Books

  • I'm soooo excited that you are going to start reading it!! You are going to LOVE it!
  • AJ I also feel the need to buy books, I do read a few from the library, but I like having books on my bookshelf Geeked makes me feel like I'm smart or something... I dunno.

     haha. ditto.

  • Good Daisy and Chira are Dorkapodamus with me. GeekedGeekedGeeked
  • No. I'm just a pretend dorkapodamus who has a bunch of books on her shelf, but hasn't read them all. ;-)
  • I hope you love it!  I feel all kinds of pressure now, its making me nervous!
  • I can't wait to read the Twilight books. Phil says I'm simply conforming to whatever mainstream media says I should read (or watch or listen to), but I really can't wait. I just can't afford to buy all four books right away like I know I'd want to.

  • I admit I wouldn't be reading them if Sphinxy and Jenny didn't go on and on about them.  I feel like I'm missing out.

I look at it as becoming a Classic.  I had planned on reading the Harry Potter series first, but decided I wanted to read Twlight instead.

    My new goal.

    Twlight

    Harry Potter

The Series of Unfortunate Things. (I just always wanted to read those).

BTW - I hate watching movies based on books without reading the books first.  I hate that I haven't read the Notebook or A Walk To Remember prior to seeing the movie.

BTW - the book I know what you did last summer, much better than the movie.  If anyone cares.

  • I'm the opposite.  Usually when I read a book first, the movie is really disappointing because they have to leave so much out, etc.  If I know the book is about to be made into a movie, I wait and watch the movie before reading the book.

So far the WORST book --> movie (IMO) was The Davinci Code.  Loved the book, was extremely disappointed by the movie, but people who hadn't read the book seemed to like it.

  • I'm sooo guilty of buying a ton of books and ever reading them however I've given up on lending out books.  I never get them back.  My most recent 'giveaway' was Twillight.  No more!
