Work and the Swine Flu
Is your work doing anything to prevent the spread of the Swine flu?
I almost think my work has gone a little to the extreme. They have bought so much antibaterial hand gel, it's nuts. There is a huge bottle of it on top of the copier. Also they handed out bottles to every other desk. I just over heard someone on the phone talking about how they can't order more as everyone is out of stock. She said she has been calling all over, even called San Francisco and can't find any. Do we really need any more?
Oh and they put signs up everywhere on proper sneezing, ie covering your cough.
Re: Work and the Swine Flu
This whole Swine flu "epidemic" is so funny. I can't believe in this day and age people are so gullible to these scare tactics. Actually less people have died from the flu this year than last.
We always have flu, people always die from it. Next year it will be a different flu by a different name but there will be something else that the newspapers will find to report.
The other day I saw a woman in the grocery store with a mask on. It took everything I had not to laugh out loud.
Wash your hands well. This is something you should always do. Other than that, eat well, take your vitamins, exercise, get a flu shot if you must.
I agree. This media hype is lame.
I went to Vons last night and needed to get some anti bacterial for H and the shelves were empty. He can't always get to a sink with his job so he uses it a lot.
Oh the media hype is insane. The flu is the flu, regardless of what the name. People die every year from the flu- and people are freaking out unnecessarily. Do what you would do under normal flu season circumstances and you shoud live through this. I saw someone wearing a mask the other day and I almost laughed out loud.
My husband and myself both work for the prison system- we have had 1 confirmed case in CA at the last update- and all visitation was suspended for the inmates to prevent the spread of the flu to the entire inmate population.
DH says that they (Staples) has sold out of all of their gloves, gel, masks... everything! Not available online or in stores.
STUPID!

I was at the hospital for an appointment today and there was only one person wearing a mask, shocked me.
