ugghh, I'm loosing it..messed up BC

I've had so much going on lately that I completely messed up my birth control!!  I thought I forgot to take it yesterday AM and took another only to find this morning that I had taken two yesterday and I'm now a day ahead.  Should I just take the pills a day ahead and get back on track at the end or skip todays?

Any advice

I would call and ask your doctor. Better safe then sorry.
  • I would just get back on track.  If I purposely skipped a day, I'd likely forget to take it the next.  That's just me though.

  • Ask your doctor. Consider the NuvaRing.
  • Personally, I would just keep taking my pills and when I got to the white placebo ones, I'd take all of them and then wait a day to take the next pack/non-placebo pill.
  • What I've done in those situations is to just keeping taking the one pill a day normally until I hit the placebos. If your on a type where the dose changes, don't back track to the lighter dosage. If your really worried about it I'd give a call to the ob's office and a nurse practioner will help you get it all figured out. I hate calling, so I'd check out what the little info booklet that comes with the pills says to do.

  • The does doesn't change on my pills so I just continued them....I'll do what some of you suggested and wait till I make it to the placebo pills...I guess I'll just be skipping one more day of pills at the end, which I'm assuming is ok right?
  • I recommend adding a day before you take your next non-placebo.  I've done it before when I've accidentally dropped a pill down the drain.  No babies here!  You might want to use a backup for a week or so after the placebos just in case.
