Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

BC (that's book club): Ready for Prime Time!

I think we're ready to roll!  Here's how I think it will work (at least to start out).

If you emailed me you will soon be getting an invite to the google group.  Sorry, I created it before I realized that I think you need to join google to see it.  At least its easy to do.  The group site hosts our Master 409 Book List.  It also gives us the ability to each make our own personal page where you can list what you are currently reading, what you've already read, etc.  Basically your Book Club Profile.  Currently I have it set so that people can't post discussion topics on there without my approval.  This is because it seems to be sending out an email to the whole group anytime this happens.  For now, I'd like our discussions to be on here, unless we change our minds.

I have the results of the survey (you can also see them on the google site).  I will follow up this post with the results.  My thought to get going is to take the books with the most "Want to Read" votes and make it our official reading list for the next month or two.  You can make it your goal to read all of them, or one of them.  You can post and try to get people to read them in the same order as you, or just go at it alone.  Discussion can occur whenever you like.  Someone on the board has already read each of these books, so you should never be alone.

Two main rules:

1- Title all posts with BC at the beginning so others can ignore if they like

2- Be mindful of "spoiler" topics and label them as much as you can.  Fortunately, Nest lets us edit posts if you forget once in awhile.

Other than that, no rules.  Have fun with it.  Read something that challenges you.  Challenge others to read things they wouldn't normally read.  And participate!!
