Re: BC: Survey Results -Time to Pick Books!

  • I'm going to start with the Sookie Stackhouse books....since I'm 50 pages into Book 1.  Anyone want to join me?
  • I'm thinking Sookie Stackhouse also!  Or twilight.  I need good beach reads!  Although I do have to say that Secret life of Bees and Water for Elephants are two of my faves....I could read Water for Elephants again.

  • I've read them, so I will discuss with you anytime you want :)

I'm leaning towards Secret Life of Bees.  I will probably pick it up this weekend.  Anyone else?

When you have decided, feel free to edit the "CURRENT READS" page in the google group, so we can keep track without the nest.

  • The Sookie Stackhouse books are on my "to read" list but I haven't been in the mood for a series as of late.  I'm flexible, though :)
  • Berri- Good thing about Sookie Stackhouse is the books stand alone.  Sure, they tie together, but they really aren't cliffhangers or anything.  You could read book 1 and switch to something else for awhile.  Or you can read about Bees with me :)

  • That's definitely good to know - I didn't want to feel too committed to reading all of them in a row.  Thanks Sphinxy :D

  • Sara - how about I get Secret Life of Bees? Deal? Deal!

I'll probably be done with it by the end of this weekend.  I read pretty fast.  Could probably finish tonight but have volleyball.

  • I haven't heard of either the bee one or the sookie stackhouse... which is an easier read? I need something easy right now while my brain still unwinds from a year of wedding planning and since I really haven't ready a book in all that time either  Coffee
  • daisy-  Easy=Sookie Stackhouse for sure.  Book 1 is super short too.  For anyone wondering book 1 is acually called

Dead Until Dark.  They all have their own name and there are like 9 of them.

  • I'm obviously reading twilight.
  • AJ- I am SO ready to discuss it with you whenever you are :)
  • What are the sookie stackhouse books about... what a weird name... i'm actually off to google to search it, but it sounds highly recommended so I'll start with that.  Should I buy it or get it from the library?? Geeked
  • I'll pick up Sookie Stackhouse as soon as I finish the Twilight series for the 2nd time.
  • Sphinxy I figured I really didn't need a buddy reader, I'll have you and the others to discuss it with Wink

  • I want to read The Secret Life of Bees - but I don't want to drop book #3 in the Twilight series!   Ah!  Maybe I'll read both at the same time?  We'll see...
  • I've always been an avid reader. Ever since I knew how to read. But I am pretty sure I couldn't handle reading two books at once. That would be really hard.

  • I've read the Twilight books and the Sookie Stackhouse series as well, so I can probably do the Secret Life of Bees.  I'm finishing up "Chasing Harry Winston" which I just found after packing up my stuff.  I started it sometime during the wedding planning and never finished it.  Oops.
  • i've read secret lfe of bees and water for elephants... i'm in the middle of "something blue" so i'll wait till i'm done with that to pick up the next book. not sure if i'll be into twilight or the sookie books. hm....
  • I am reading Bees!  BTW Water for Elephants is one my fav books!!!
