and the nest addict in me says try the nest, ya know, just to see what happens. And after several months of being banished from the nest at work...I am on! Yay!

Boy did I miss the nest during the day!! Ok I won't be overdoing it like in the past for fear there will be another banning. LOL

There's going to be a meeting where I'll get all the info, since I'm signing up as an individual I still need to be assigned to a team. I know the games are all on South Beach on Staten Island, so I'm sure if we get together to practice it will be the same. I just need to get into shape now.

How's everything going with the house?

Ah, the beach...sounds so fun, Helene! You're gonna be tanned till next year. LOL I love the idea of the volleyball game. I really need to increase my activity level this summer. hmm

The house is coming along nicely. We are focusing on doing the upstairs for now and changing the hideous windows (well we are only changing 10 for now and will change the other 13 later down in the year). We have about 2 weeks to get the upstairs liveable and I think we are making good progress. We should be painting next weekend and working on putting new tiles in the bathroom etc.etc. lots of work! Thank God for my handy husband and his pals. All I do is help with hauling, feeding them, and welcoming people who are doing various estimates, ooh and taking pics (which I need to do tonight) before the new walls go up this weekend.

How is house hunting going? Did you put an offer on any other property yet?

Trust me in this process, you'll know when the house is supposed to be yours...despite the disappointments. Good Luck! Yes

That's great! while a fixer-upper is a lot of work, at least you know that after it's over the house will be exactly the way you want it and not to some previous owner's tastes. It's great that your husband is so handy, I fear that when the time comes it will be me doing all the work as I think I'm a bit more handy than Joe.

We're planning on putting in an offer on another house on Saturday after we do one more walkthrough with our parents. After the last time though I'm not going to get excited until I hear an acceptance. This place isn't as big but it doesn't need all the work the other place did, oh well, we'll see what happens.

I can't wait to see the before and after pics of your house! When are you planning on moving in?

Oh good luck with the new house offer. Less work sounds good to me. Is it a foreclosed home? All the foreclosed homes we saw, and even some owner-owned homes needed so much work that I just had to give up on finding one that was move in ready.

And I know what you mean about getting excited. Same thing with me. After we lost out on the first one which I really loved and pictured myself in, I just didn't have the strength to get excited again. Looking back though, I am glad we didnt get the first house. Life is funny like that!

We plan to move in on Memorial Day! Although I think we will only have the Bedrooms and bathroom ready to go then. So we better save up to be eating on the streets for the next two weeks or so after we move in...our best man is hopefully going to do our cabinets for our kitchen (unless Ikea has a sale or something). He is coming over this weekend so we'll see what he says about how soon the kitchen can be ready. We threw out all the old cabinet, kitchen sink etc. They were really old/broken. I better start a bio soon so you can see the before pics. Really scary! LOL But we love our new neighborhood so that works.
