We bought/moved in to our house in August of last year and I'm finally getting around to adding some decorative window covering. The house had 2" blinds on all of the windows except the sliders when we moved in.
My challenge is that the living/kitchen/dining/entry all flow into one another and my OCD-ness tends to want them to be matchy matchy (I'd put PB Serafina fabric on every one of them if my husband would let me -- put we already have that fabric on pillows in the living room and the guest bath shower curtain). Walls are taupe, sofa is taupe, tile is taupe (whole house is tile except bedrooms), area rug in living room is taupe. I love color, but the only color is in the throw cushions. There is no color at all in the kitchen/dining room -- just white cabinetry, black appliances, and cherry dining room furniture.
Below are pictures from the real estate listing and then our living room at kitchen (so you can see the taupe-ness of it all) -- any suggestions for the windows? They're all that really long window that goes almost to the floor -- the sofa isn't pushed up against them -- there is about a foot clearance between the sofa/wall so I could do long drapes. I'd like to do something similar for the entry window and slider, the slider in the dining room and then the dining room/kitchen windows so that it all coordinates. Give me your thoughts -- I'm open to anything at this point as I'm totally stumped.
Entry way with seller's things.
Entry way as seen from back patio with seller's things -- there is also another slider to the right that is the dining room.

Re: XP from D&R: Need window coverings
Yep -- the pillows are all PB. Ogee (red/orange/white), Serafina (floral pattern with red/orange/plum/green/white), and then a red/white tile pattern I can't remember the name of.
Do you like PB's dupioni drapes? I've heard mixed reviews... I love red/orange, so I would be totally open to it, just didn't know if I should go for that much color since everything else is so...taupe.
I like them alot. You could do drapes in a darker shade of taupe, either in the silk or I like the Peyton drape from PB too

I like these shades for in the kitchen, the red ones look really similar to the fabric I have on mine

I also like these and they would go well with the Seraphina and brings in a touch of color

Could you do seraphina shades in the kitchen windows and then a coordinatng drape in the living?
