Re: Happy Monday!!!
Well we had a nice weekend. I worked overnight from Friday to Saturday morning, and had a little nap when I got home, about 2 hours. We went to my parents house (where I threw in a load of laundry - hello, my name is Meagan and I am a mooch) and met up with Kevin's brother, his fiancee, my friend Colleen and her friends Joe and Norm for a lovely evening of beers and karaoke. Since I was going on about 4 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours, I was thinking it would be an early night, but we didn't end up coming home till after 2am. I slept like a rock!
Sunday I got up and started baking - I was bringing dessert for mothers day. I made my fruit pizza and also brownies with cheesecake on top. So good. SO fattening. We went to my dad's mom for a little visit (she was having dinner at my aunt's house later) and then onto my mom's mother, where we go every Sunday for dinner. I love getting together with everyone. And the desserts were a big hit. Then we had to take off a little early because I was picking up a couple hours at work (6-10). ?
My weekend was great. I got up too early for a Saturdy picked up my mom and went and had breakfast with my sister, niece and BIL. Then my mom and I ventured over to the IKEA store that just opened near us. I got some stuff for the kitchen. They were pretty cheap, but the quality is there. And my mom bought a bed. She was so excited because it is the first time in her life she has ever owned a bed, not just a matress and box spring, I dropped the bed and my mother off at her house then went home to DH, who wasn't feeling great. Later we went to my mom's so we could put her bed together, which was a bit of a fiasco because the salesman who was helping us told my mom that she did not need a part that turned out to be crucial to putting the bed together. So my mom had to make a special trip to get this one piece.
Sunday we slept in a little then got up and went to MIL to give her her Mother's day present, a Bonsi tree. After being yapped at for an hour we finally got out the door and went food shopping. Then back home to put DH in bed, he was feeling worse than the day before. He felt so bad becauase he wanted to go back to my mom's to finish the bed and out to dinner like we had planned. I made him stay home, I finished my mom's bed (I have the swollen hand to prove it, thank you arthritis) and took mom out to dinner. She loved it. I went home, took a shower (it was freaking hot yesterday) and fell asleep early. All in all it was a good weekend.
This weekend was a whirlwind of working. Friday I worked til 11, got home, DH had gone fishing that day with my dad and my little cousins for like 8 hours and he was drained. So we both started watching a movie and passed out on the couch.
Saturday I tried to sleep in late, but woke up at like 10 (yea thats early to me, I would've LOVED to sleep til like 12 or so) then I laid around until DH woke up. We went and got snow cones and then I had to get ready to work. I worked til 11 that night and it pure madness all day Saturday with people buying stuff for mothers day. I went home, made some spinach dip and passed out.
Yesterday I worked from 1-7 then we went to DH's older sisters house to see MIL. Then we went to see my moms, then to DH's grandmothers and then finally home. WHEW. I'm glad the weekend is over and i'm soo loooking forward to my 3 day WORK FREE weekend!!! WOOHOO!!!
Good Morning!
My weekend was great! Sat dh had his final for school so he got out early and came home and we took a bunch of stuff to goodwill. Then we headed home took a nap and hung around the house. Right about dinner time we decided to rip out all the bushes by our back patio and brick it. We live in a townhouse and are having a HUGE ant problem so we are trying to make them go away. We leveled everything out, but decided we will be laying brick until sept....there is a ton of them.
Yesterday we got up and went swimming for a little while after breakfast and then headed to my cousins grad. party...picked up our new couches and went home and all of us passed out on the couch until around 9.
All weekend my 2 year old kept telling me happy mothers day over and over again. It was so sweet and I pretty much cried everytime.
SAT: up early after 4 hours of sleep, and on the road by 7 to get MIL. We picked her up and drove to Queens, where she went to the Dentist and we visited with DH's adopted grandma (a lady who was their neighbor while growing up) After MIL was done at the dentist we all went for dinner and visited for several hours. Then we drove back to MILs.
SUN: church, and then late lunch at DH's grandparents. I found mother's day to be pretty tough this year, I got teary eyed a few times. Glad its all over.??
We went out to dinner with my mom on Saturday, that was good. Went to the in laws on Sunday which was nice too. The only thing that I hate is that the subject of kids always seems to get brought up. I feel like screaming. Its none of their business whether we have kids or when. I just laugh it off but really I'm getting sick of it.
Jenny I'm sorry for your loss, that must be a hard day for you.
