I'm back, vacation review
What a crazy week! We decided to go to Carillon Beach, FL instead of Mexico. It is a gated community about 10 minutes west of Panama City. The community has a small downtown with shops, coffee house, restaurant, wine bar, and a few shops. All the houses have white picket fences and are adorable. Palm tree lined streets, the safest place I can imagine. There is about a mile of beach front with beautiful white sands. It was totally dead, only a few other couples our age and a few families with young children. They said it was off season, between spring break and memorial day. I liked having the place to ourselves, no waits at restaurants.
We had a small 1 bed, 1 bath cottage that will one day be a guest house to a larger home. Most of the houses are 3-5 bedrooms all with front porches, some with balconies. Everything is walking distance from all the homes: the beach, downtown, pools, parks, lake. We rented bikes from a downtown shop and really enjoyed biking everyday. I highly recommend Carillon Beach!
The morning of day 2 my husband broke his elbow skim boarding. We spent the rest of the day at a Medical clinic and then the ER. When we got back we went to see an Ortho specialist and then had an MRI. Results will be back on Tues. Please hope for no surgery!!
