I think it was you who asked be about my poster project.  I finished it this weekend.  Smile

What I ended up doing was purchasing foam board to mount it on.  I had the framing counter cut it for me.

I wrapped the foam board in inexpensive fabric (to give it a better looking edge) with a spray adhesive and then painted it to match the wall.

I cut the poster using a rotary cutter and then used the spray adhesive to mount the poster.  To hang it, I just cut a small hole on the back and hung it on a nail.    Here is a closer look at the edge.

  • That looks great! I'm impressed! I'm still in the middle of hanging up stuff around here, so I might just do something very similar!

Although I did find a beautiful Japanese obi (the tie for the kimono's) for REALLY cheap, and I'm having the frame store on base cut, mount and frame that for me, so that will take up a wall at least. I'll post pics when I get it back. I also bought 3 clocks and hung them on a wall, and painted "London" "Tokyo" and "Houson" under each of them and have hem set to those times (since we are always talking about time it is back home!

I've found the true challenge here to be that the walls are concrete (not like cinder blocks- they look like regular walls, but are madeof concrete) so finding hangers that go into them is the big deal!?

I like your posted project though- it turned out great!!?

  • Kim we have some concrete walls here. All you can do is get a concrete bit for your drill and make holes in it, hammer a wall anchor in and THEN put in a nail or screw. Such a PITA!

  • DK- We will have to do that. They sell this one kind of hook w/ 3 little prongs in it, that you can hammer into the concrete, but the hook is weird, and only holds certain things. So...this weekend I have to see if I can get a concrete drill bit. I'm so ready to get everything hung up and looking cute around here. Guess it's the ?nesting phase...
