ugh. my gyno is on my nerves...TMI

So. I have been on my period for 4 weeks this wk....It started as spotting and has gotten heavier over the last 2-3 weeks...so i'm just considering the whole thing my period.....So I made an appt for my yearly exam bc i was thinking its just spotting it will stop...well i called my dr last tuesday to find out what I should bc i had an appt on friday....the "nurse" tells me I should be fine because it will probably stop by friday (UH LADY I'VE BEEN GOING AT THIS RATE FOR 3 WKS I DOUBT 3 DAYS IS GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE).....so i rescheduled my appt for tomorrow.....UHM STILL BLEEDING HERE.....so i called to find out what I should do....had to leave a message, and you have to cancel your appt with in 24 hrs...well its past the 24 hr mark...and still no call back....i'm getting irritated! I feel like the nurse should have scheduled a different kind of visit rather then an annual, i mean at this point i'm thinking something could be wrong--- I haven't changed BC, i've been on the same kind for over a year....i took a pregnancy test (just in case, crazy things happen)...negative..... so i'm kind of annoyed...and only getting more annoyed as the day goes on! ugh..sorry if thats TMI..

  • IMO you should still go and keep the appt.  Its not an ideal time but they can still do your pap.  Also you probably want to figure out why its been going for 3 weeks anyway, sorry not fun!
  • Yeah - I would keep the apt, and maybe they can figure out why it's lasted 3 weeks. SORRY and GLSmile

  • I agree, definitely still go and even if they can't do your pap (which I would think they still should be able to, but IDK) then you can atleast talk to your OB/GYN and try to find out whats going on.  Let us know how it turns out hun!!! **HUGS**
  • I agree with everyone.  Keep the apt.  Use this as the opportunity to find out why you've been bleeding for 3+ weeks.  If they do a PAP, fine.  If not, that's fine as well.  I would be more concerned about finding out why I had been bleeding for so long.  GL and let us know what happens.
  • I am going to keep my appt for sure, but I REALLY don't want her to do a Pap right now. not to be immature, but ew!...i just feel so incredibly disgusting!

  • They may not do your pap if you are on your period since it can obscure the results and thus cause you to go back for a second pap...and no one wants that!  But, I would keep your appointment so that you can talk to your Dr about what is going on.  I had this problem after being on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for a few years, I just kept bleeding/spotting and it stopped after I switched to a different kind of pill.  So, you could figure out how to take care of your problem.  I hope everything goes well even though it's clearly frustrating!
  • I am on the generic for ortho-tri-cyclen....well weird. It's just un-nerving, and the nurse seemed to be like okay well whatever..which i work in a dr office and i know patients freak for no reason, but i'm not exaggerating by any means. so i guess i just expected more respect....well i hope its just a BC problem.nothing serious.

  • I agree with the other girls - I'd definiteyl keep the appt just to get an audience with your doc to talk about what's been going on.  I'm sure you'll be fine but, I'd want some answers too.
