I want a new house

Anyone with me? LOL. I'm in one of those I hate my house moods. I love the area where we live but I either want all our house projects done or I want a new place already done...good thing I don't want much haha. Anyone have a magic wand I can borrow? ;) It doesn't help that I've been working with a client's kid twice a week who lives in this development with very large (prob 5000-8000 sf) houses so I'm always in awe driving in. *sigh* some day!

Re: I want a new house

  • I am with you! ?But, luckily I am getting a new house, haha. ?We were supposed to be already settled and moved by now, but we have not yet. ?We were supposed to move May22, but now we are not moving until June 6, but who knows, that could change too! ?This waiting is killing me! ?I just want to move away and then move back when its time to move! ?I feel like I can't live here anymore waiting!
  • I have those "I hate my house" days every now and then...but I just think about having to pack up everything and the hassle of moving/address change etc and that makes me not mind my house so much :o)

As for the magic wand...I've wanted one of them for a while now and they are really hard to find!

  • I'm happy with our house now, but would love to have a brand new one in about 3 years.  We're doing some renovations now that will make me happy in this house for a few more years.

But an 8000 sf house???  Our's is only 1540 sf.  I can't imagine a house that big!

  • I know how you feel.  I long for a wonderful single family home and acreage too.  Some day!

  • Totally with you here! Yes, I like/love our house but it isn't the size or have the yard that we'd like. Honestly, we're ready to build and would like to do so in PA, but with the current market we're stuck where we're at and can't think about selling w/o taking a big loss. Going home to PA and seeing all the new neighborhoods that are going up drives us nuts! Now that we're expecting, I'm even more anxious to build a bigger home with a big yard and be a little closer to family, atlhough I would miss Maryland.

Trying to stay patient for a few more years!

  • Sign me up for one of those wands while your at it :)  I love our house until I look too close at all the little (and not so little) flaws and think of how much work it will be to fix them all.  We've made some progress in the past year, so I try to focus on that since it will be at least a few years until we can start thinking about a new place.  But it sure won't be 5000+ square feet. That's ridiculous!  I can't even begin to imagine what I would do with that much space.
  • Have we met???  LOL

I am forever doing the "I hate this place!" but most of that stems from the fact that we are in limbo of sorts.  Although our landlord would allow us to make some minor cosmetic changes, we don't want to invest any of our own money because we (hopefully!) will not be living here for too much longer.  I am currently DYING for a fence around our backyard so that the dogs can just be let out withour the fear of them taking off.

  • LOL...glad to see I'm not the only one looking for a magic wand ;)  As for the 5000+ sf home...I can't even imagine having or cleaning that much space especially with how type A I am.  We have 1600 sf now and I have to keep a cleaning schedule to get it done.  I think most of the homes in the development I was talking about having cleaning people (considering I'm fairly certain they belong to dr's from the med center)
  • Me, too!  Me, too!

I think we need a bigger one.  Our house is over run with baby stuff.  Our kitchen is not small, but it has so much wasted space that we need to do something about it.  Our basement/ground floor needs to be remodeled.  I also want to move into a different school district before Ali starts school.  So, yeah, a new house would be great!

LOL I used to want one of those big homes. Now I can't imagine trying to furnish it and keep it clean. Certainly not on my current salary!!!

  • I've been saying this for months!!! Ours is three levels and each level is really small with no bathroom on the main level. It sucks having to haul toddlers and babies to each level. We are also renting so can't make any significant changes. Thankfully we are moving next summer!!
