Am I the only one? RE: selling home
We got an offer on our house yesterday and now I'm getting major cold feet. As in, should we really be doing this?! We're going to be HOMELESS!! What if we can't find anything we like?! Am I totally normal?? I'm just freaking out about how quickly this has gone. Excited, but freaking out. Our plan is to live with my folks for several months to save up a good down payment, but the thought of not having MY home anymore is freaking me out!
I just need to hear someone else tell me that they did the same thing when they got an offer on their home!! Ok, freak out over. For now.
Re: Am I the only one? RE: selling home
That was our plan when we tried to sell our home about 2 years ago. We pulled our house off of the market for various reasons.
We didn't even look at homes seriously until we got an offer on our house (the offer eventually fell through). We didn't want to find a house we fell in love with before our house sold. It was a little scary to think we could be homeless for a while - but we made sure we put the closing date off as long as the buyer would allow.
I've had several friends do it the other way around and they all wish they hadn't. Several have lost their "dream" home because they couldn't sell their home. IMO - you are doing the right and responsible thing.
Good Luck!
