Hey we're planning a trip to Las Vegas. What hotel(s) would you recommend? And would you leave out of OKC if it was cheaper than leaving out of DFW ($124 difference)?
Re: Going to Las Vegas
I might leave out of OKC to save money but it would depend on how much I needed the money - plus you'll still have to pay gas and parking right?
I have stayed at the Golden Nugget downtown twice. It is really nice, recently refurbished and you can get good prices. However, it is downtown and you'll need a cab when you want to get to the strip. We don't like to spend a lot of money on gambling and it is less expensive downtown so it is a good fit for us - we can still go up to the strip several times and see whatever we want.
I've also stayed at the Wynn which I absolutely loved. Right in the middle of everything and is super nice - love their pool too! However, it is also much pricier than the Golden Nugget - basically an entirely different league but I'd recommend either hotel.
It all depends on how much money you want to spend. I've stayed at the Mirage - it was really nice, their pool is great. Next time I want to try New York, New York or Paris, I like that side of the strip better. Once you go and sign up everywhere for membership cards at different casino's you'll receive emails forever with discounts. Rooms are cheaper during the week, you can save a lot of money if you can avoid weekends. Here are some discount codes I've saved when I was looking recently....

I don't typically post over here, but I love Vegas! We stay at Planet Hollywood on the Strip and it was awesome. It's right across from the Bellagio and just about in the middle of the strip. The casino there is also really nice, and their buffet is fantastic (especially at breakfast!).
I also love the Venetian, but it is so far down the strip. We went there to see Phantom once and decided to take a cab back to the hotel because it's just a long, long walk.

Sorry guys. Obviously something is wrong with my computer. I am trying to say the Mirage is my favorite and it has the most amazing pool EVER. LOL. That is all!
