Dry Shampoo

Can anyone tell me what this does?  Have you used it?  Do you like it?

Re: Dry Shampoo

  • 58 views and no responses.  Either you all want to know what "Dry Shampoo"  is also or you just wanted to see my cute new sig picture! :)
  • I think it was the siggy pic.

The only time I heard of dry shampoo it was for dogs. So I have no advice about it.

  • Dry shampoo (for people) is used as a refresher is you want to extend the time between shampooing your hair.  This is good for people who have dry hair or color-treated hair.  The one I have is basically an aerosol that you spray toward the roots of your hair, wait a few minutes, then brush through.  It absorbs some of the oil in your hair so it doesn't look greasy or otherwise non-washed.  Same concept as using baby powder, but not as messy and works better for me since baby powder shows up pretty well in darker hair.
  • I'm cheap. ?I just use baby powder on my roots and rub it in good. ?I have thin greasy hair and don't like washing it all the time, so I'll do this in between wet shampoos to keep my hair looking decent without drying it out from washing it too much.

  • I am dying to try this stuff, but don't want to pony up the money.  I go several days between shampoos now that I'm a SAHM.  I know it's really great for my hair.  :)

  • I actually never knew there was such a thing. I just do the baby powder trick if I'm feeling lazy or dont' have time to wash and redo my hair. It sucks up the oil and seems to rub into my hair w/o showing. I'm sure I'll have an excess of those "baby powder" days coming up- being a SAHM w/ a baby (and lots of baby powder around the house!)?
  • I've also been curious to try it, just haven't gotten around to actually going to buy it.  I've done the baby powder trick before, I just hate the way my scalp feels.  Someone told me Kelly Ripa (sp?) uses one and I'm sure if you googled it, it may come up.
  • I'm with the pps in that I just use baby powder on the rare occasion I skip washing. I usually just use my fingers to work it into my roots. Being a blonde, it blends super easy and is waaaaay cheaper than the *real* dry shampoo that people sell.
  • I just use a little bit of baby powder cause I am cheap like that
  • I found some at Sallys for around $7.00.  It's a spray but it does seem to have that baby powder feel and look to it.  It didn't work well for me because my hair is so dark.  Even after I brushed it through several times you could tell that there was powdery stuff in my hair.  It did seem to absorb the oils really well and it smells good.
  • I use it and love it. I get the Fioravanti brand in the dark green can from Sephora. It's not cheap - like $25. But I love it and it saves on shampoo right? It's not like powder at all - it doesn't put any actual "stuff" into your hair. It's just a chemical that sprays out and drys up all the oil in your roots. Gives you an extra day between shampooing. Good for the gym!

And your new siggy is adorable! Such a pretty family :)
