Re: Can anyone recommend a bakery in the Reading area?

  • My ILs have purchased baked goods from the Italian & French Pastry Shop.  They have a location on N. 6th St and N 5th St Highway.
  • My sister is opening a bakery in Reading, right near the GoggleWorks.  She won't be officially open until July, but she is doing cakes out of her home until the shop is open.  She may be able to do your cake at a very reasonable price, and she's excellent.  If you'd like her contact info, email me at dljones at dsscorp dot com
  • Dosie Dough on penn ave in wyomissing is very good. also, there is a little bake shop in west lawn right off of penn ave, La Petit Bouchee, which is run by the former owner of The Cake Lady. i haven't gotten a chance to get in there lately but it sounds divine!

  • I got my wedding cake from the Sweet Angel Bake Shop on Penn Street.  It was awesome and one of my friends still randomly tells me how it was the best cake she's ever had.  I have also heard good things about the Italian and French Bake Shop that pp mentioned.
