WFD?

I don't have anything planned for dinner tonight and I'm at a loss.  Nothing is sounding good to me.  What are you guys having?

Re: WFD?

  • I am trying to keep it simple tonight so we are having grilled chicken caesar salad...

What do you have in the fridge/freezer meat wise? I can look through the recipes in my google reader if you give me some idea of what you have/might want.

  • I'm making chicken parm minus the breading. so grilled chicken with sauce and mozz. Then spaghetti.
  • No clue. I won't get home til 8.15-8.30, and I'll probably just eat something light b/c DH won't be home either. THe most effort I'll probably exert is to steam some broccoli.
  • Mmmmm chicken parm sounds good.  My freezer is bare, which I think was part of my blockage.  H just emailed and said he wants tacos, so I guess tacos it is!

(But I'd rather have chicken parm now.)

  • trying a new recipe tonight, chicken and salsa.  Threw some chicken in the crock pot, sprinkled taco mix over the chicken, added a cup of salsa and a can of cheddar soup and set it on low for 10 hrs.  ill probaly make some brown rice and throw it on top of that, or maybe wrap it all up in a wheat tortilla.

This sounds really good!  Let me know how it turns out.

  • Homemade Bang Bang Shrimp and sticky rice or fried flounder.

When DH gets home he can pick.

I'll have the bang bang shrimp, please Big Smile Do you have a recipe?

  • Yum! I love bang bang shrimp!
  • Bang Bang Shrimp is super simple.

Peel and pat dry raw shrimp.

    Coat in cornstarch.

Fry the shrimp in hot oil (vegetable or canola) and allow to drain excess oil on paper towels or paper bags (preferrably)

Toss in the Bang Bang Sauce and you're all set.

    1/2 Cup of Mayo

1/3 Cup of Thai Sweet Chili Sauce (asian section of the grocery store)

Add as much Sriracha hot chili sauce as you like. It's very spicy, so a little squirt goes a long way.  (Also located in the asian section, this is what is used for spicy tuna also).

Some people prefer a heavier breading on the shrimp, if that's you're preference you can bread the shrimp in whatever works for you.
