stolen from MM: is DH a "gentleman"?
like, does he walk on the "outside" of the sidewalk? open doors/let you walk through first?
the hub does these things, and also sleeps on the side of the bed closest to the door. with a D-sized mag lite flashlight under the bed, just in case. heh.
these are things i always found endearing, and i was really surprised to find so many MMers who think it's lame or stupid. chivalry was one of the things i noticed first about the hub, back in the day.

Re: stolen from MM: is DH a "gentleman"?
Did you read all the related threads?
It's a truly ridiculous discussion all around.
I don't believe that any of these "traditions" or "gentlemanly" acts makes a man a "gentleman."
obviously, there are many, many other characteristics that make up a "gentleman." like i said, i just find it endearing.
besides, the board is slow and i'm trying to avoid doing anything productive.
I think it's nice when men do things like that. It's good manners, IMO. But a guy with good manners can still be an ungentlemanly assshole in a lot of other ways, from what I've seen.
This thread is funny.
Uhhhh...only thing that comes to mind is he does open doors. And I think he walks closer to the road.
But I sleep closer to the door and he's right next to the window. I now realize he's leaving me open to attack while he escapes. My marriage is a sham!
OMG I just LOLed.
I sleep closer to the door bc it's more spacious on my side, plus I'm closer to the gun and I'm the one that knows how to use it if need be.
jk. Kinda.
This was too funny. And true for us too. Ha!?
he still opens doors, I sleep closest to the door, and I have no clue about the sidewalk - I don't care enough to pay attention.
so my marriage is a quasi-sham?
H does most of the "gentleman" things. ?Sometimes he yells at me cause I will actually wait for him to open the door if I get there first. ?(I can't help it, it's habit now, and after all, I am?a princess, right?)
I have noticed that he has gotten a lot more protective now that I have a bun in the oven. ?Just little things to make sure I dont get hurt.?
