I know, I just couldn't reveal it in the subject! I'm still a bit star struck from just having helped interview Chandra Wilson, (Dr. Miranda Bailey) from Grey's Anatomy! She's quite beautiful in person, and has a wonderful sense of humor! It was like talking to a girlfriend, because she puts you at ease.
Definitely a nice random perk from my still, "bottom-rung "position in magazines. Her PR person contacted me very randomly and I passed it along to our Entertainment Director in hopes of helping to interview her or even, eventually write her interview. I knew it was a long shot but had to try, so I was told many thanks and I could "sit-in on the interview." But, I couldn't resist asking her a couple questions, like how old her three kids are and can she reveal any details about tonight's season finale of Grey's! (Of course she couldn't)!
So, this whole experience comes on the heels of just being told that no raises will go out this year (which I suspected), but I finally asserted myself after being in my position for 3-years, that I deserve a title change to "assistant editor," from "editorial assistant." See the difference?! I mean, I edit a small column and have written a few articles, plus some admin work so, I'm hoping they'll give me a title bump despite the money anyway. I'll let you guys know!
Re: **Guess what TV celebrity I just spoke with?!**
So cool! I love her on Greys! This must be her interview day - she was on CW11 morning news too!
Good luck with the promotion!
That's so cool! She seems like a neat lady. Too bad i lost interest in Grey's after Season 2...

and good for you for asserting yourself! i work for a book publisher and i know raises this year are going to be tiny but i know i'd appreciate a title change and an office in exchange for a smaller raise. ?

I'm sorry, I can't really reveal that following my post since it is a significant women's magazine. Sounds crazy, but people have lost their jobs in the industry for revealing too much! But, I could at a GTG

IMHO, she is the heart and soul of that show!!
I hope they give you your title change, just that little switch of the words means a huge difference!
Thats awesome! Hope you get the title bump even if there are no financial bennifits!
