  • and what's the point of a daycare only being open 3days a week?
  • Wha???!!!

It isn't even that much money down here by the coast!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • Ridiculous!

  • Do you need someone for days or nights? I might be able to recommend someone.
Don't worry about tomorrow. After all, today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. Take each day as it comes...one at a time. Midnight Baking Adventures Blog
  • Yeah. and this is why when my mom suggested watching our kids for the few hours we need it I seriously considered it.
  • That's total BS! No
  • OMG my jaw just dropped...
  • Uh, for that, I'd be a SAHM. I wouldn't be bringing in enough money to make it worth it anyway.

I hope you find something better. Sounds like they are WAY over charging.

  • That seems so high. I really hope you get your schedule worked out so you don't have to worry about this.
  • That's ridiculous!

We pay just over $1200/month for Sarah, for 5 full days a week at Kindercare (which I know is one of the more expensive centers around).

Was this a home-based daycare or a center?  I remember when Kindercare quoted us the pricing, for 3 full days/week it would run us ~ $180/week (now this was about a year ago so I'm sure the prices have gone up a little bit).

  • Yikes. that is outrageous!
  • Have you thought about approaching someone from your previous daycare? Times are hard & I bet they're not being scheduled enough hrs.
  • I . am. dreading. this
  • Granted this is one of the more expensive ones and it is for 2 kids. But since we only need a couple of hours a day they said all we can do is pay the full price and pick them up whenever we need to. But we have to drop them off at 8 every morning. Which is pointless for us since DH is home until 1:30.

We didn't have a previous daycare, every since Isabel was born, I work the morning shift and DH worked the night shift. I would come home and 20min later Dh would leave.

But now my sup changed my hours so I work 5:15-1:45 and DH works 1:50-10:20. I just need to get off 30min earlier to give me enough time to get home that's why we are hoping someone will let us transfer or change our hours.?

  • Ah, man. 5 minutes?  This is a stretch but what if your H took the kids to work and you took them home and during that 5 minutes a co-worker friend took their break and watched the kids??

That would work except we don't work in the same city. We work for the same company but at different sites. So one of things we are trying is to get one of us transferred so that we are at the same site. So at least we could just trade them off in the parking lot.?

That's right. As I was typing that in the back of my head I thought you guys had worked at different sites but couldn't remember. I really hope you can get a transfer!!
