January 2006 Weddings
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
So some nesties were banned and
had to BEG their way back onto the nest?
This is why I think ML is weird ... have you guys been in the bathwater for too long and can't see how assinine that is??????????????
(see the posts about PromSpot)
Re: So some nesties were banned and
A group of five-ten Nesties created trolls and went over to this board called PromSpot. It is another of the Knot family of boards - I think they used to link to it from the Nest. They posted stuff that was perhaps somewhat inappropriate, especially coming from adults on a board for teenagers, like stuff about sex (the ringleader in that, as I recall, was StacyandJason). In general, I think a lot of Nesties thought the whole thing was sort of sleezy.
The Nest's reaction, though, was out of all proportion. They figured out the Nest identities of the people who trolled, I believe because the same group would come on ML and talk about the trolling (though it could also have been from IP addresses, I guess). THey then, apparently, banned not just their identities, but also their IP addresses. Eventually they were all able to come back after apologizing.
