September 1st 2006 wedding
Anyone else get married this weekend???? We were married on a Friday night on the water at suset on Lake Ronkonkoma in Long Island, but hurricane Ernesto was coming through! We made it through our ceramony and our pictures, and then it poured buckets of rain untill Sunday morning! We met a bunch of couples who were unfortunate to get married on Saturday, anyone else out there who got married that weekend???
Re: September 1st 2006 wedding
We were married on 9/2/06 on a mountain in PA. It was extremely foggy and our outdoor ceremony that was to take place on a golf course in front of a gazebo had to instead take place on the dancefloor with everyone sitting at their tables
It was alright though and everyone had a good time. DH and I were getting fed up though and wanted to punch the next person who told us that the rain was good luck. We heard it about 100 times!
Another 9/2/06 bride here. We had 2 weather problems... Ernesto was definitely the big one. The second was a huge flood in my town in June 06... the facility I wanted to take outdoor pictures at was still under a layer of muck and ew, so that was out! But it was still a great time, and surprisingly it stopped raining every time we needed to go outside!
Anyone else miss planning for a wedding? Yes, I know it was a year and a half ago
I think I'm meant to be a wedding planner.

I can't believe it has been over a year and half. I do miss wedding planning although my husband doesn't. I would love to put my dress on again even if it was to vaccum the house
My husband and I were married Saturday 9/2/06 in Cohasset, MA. I can remember watching the weather channel for hours on end, especially the night before the wedding took place. The rain was to hold off until that Sunday.
As I awoke the morning of our wedding the skies were a bit grey but no rain. As I rode in the antique car along the water with my father on the way to the church the sun actually peaked through the clouds for that small amount of time. After the church we had a few drops during the receiving line and that was it!!! The wind was the only thing that I could have done without, the sun peaked through once more for some final pictures just before the reception as well.
The pictures came out great, no squinting!!!
I'm another 9/02/06 bride; I can't belive it has been almost 2 years!
Our wedding took place in Great Falls, MT and the only things we had to really worry about were extreme heat or smoke from fires. Luckily, the temperature only reach 85 and the winds didn't blow in any smoke. The reception was a blast. It was so nice to have all our family and friends there to celebrate with.
The honeymoon in Edmonton, AB on the other hand turned into a disaster when our car was broken into. We had 3 really nice days and nights there and were off to another day or activities when we found our window smashed in. As soon as I saw what happened I burst into tears. Luckily insurance covered all the damages, but it left a sour taste in our mouths.
In the two years we have been married we have sold a house, moved back to Montana from Washington, and now are about to build a new home. We should move in by December. Kids are still a few years off because we want to make sure we have everything lined up. We are extremely happy right now.
