1st Anniversary Ideas

Hi Ladies-

I'm not sure if anyone frequents this board but I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for their first anniversary...it's coming up quick!  I was thinking about doing a trip over a long weekend (leave Thursday night/Friday morning and come back Sunday).  Does anyone have any suggestions??? TIA!

Re: 1st Anniversary Ideas

  • where do you live, if maybe near a beach you could do that if it were close enough to road trip....???
  • We were thinking the same thing about having and celebrating our anniversary over a long weekend. We're thinking about getting a room on a beach and just relaxing. Or now DH has mentioned about going to Boston. We're working on TTC and hopefully that'll be the best time.
  • I sent hubby dear a subtle (like a sledgehammer to the face) hint about a bed and breakfast called "The Anniversary Mansion". I thought that was fitting, and I hope he'll take me there for our anniversary.  :)
  • We are thinking about a long weekend as well.  Still deciding the details.  Isn't the first year 'paper'?  I was thinking I could get him tickets to something.  Not sure what though.

    Good luck!

  • We were married on the 9th and our birthdays are the 24th and 25th.  So we're taking our first anniversary trip on our birthday weekend due to better scheduling.  We are driving to one of my favorite spots in CT (either on the way there or back) to a small park with waterfalls to climb up and down, have some lunch in the quaint town then about an hour from there is a town with a drive in movie theatre.  We both love drive ins so we will see a movie and stay at a Bed and Breakfast for two nights.  There's also hiking, kayaking, nice restaurants so it should be nice and relaxing!

My struggle is the gift ideas!
  • We are taking off next Friday for a weekend in Chicago. Turning off our cell phones and getting away. We're going to Shedd aquarium and probably walking around the different parks. It's just going to be fun to be AWAY.
  • Hi Everyone, I'm new but I'm agonizing about what to do as well. My DH just suggested that we throw a party on the day of our actual anniversary and then go away for a long weekend trip the following week. I'm all for the trip. I'm just not sure if a throwing a party to celebrate is the best thing to do. Any thoughts??? Erin
  • we are going to Ogunquit, ME for 3 days. I cant wait.
