DH and I had a really really good weekend. How was yours??
?
Friday night DH and I both won money at our poker game.?
Saturday we spent the day relaxing and running a few errands. Then we went to a friend's house for another poker game, where I made some money but Rich lost some. Overall combining both nights we wound up making a little bit over the weekend.?
This morning we were up early to go bowling at 9am with some friends. A few of us are in a summer bowling league that starts on Thursday and I haven't gone 10 pin bowling in a long time (since in Canada 5 pin bowling is more common, look it up on wikipedia if you're curious).
I was really excited about my scores, since the last time I bowled was about 2.5 years ago and I bowled a 67 with the bumpers up! Today I bowled a 66, 54, and a 86!!!! (2 spares and a strike in the 3rd game!)
?After that we went for brunch at Friendly's. While we were there we looked in the real estate section for open houses and we actually went and looked at a few.?
There are quite a few houses in our price range with all the things we want. The ones we looked at weren't right for us at all, but we are now receiving emails of houses with amenities we want. Originally we were planning on buying a house next spring or summer, but there is the federal tax credit that gives you $8000 if you close on a house before Dec 1, 2009. So, we might actually be looking more seriously at it in the next few months.

Re: How was your weekend?
Sounds like ya'll had a good weekend! Glad to hear it!! That is exciting that you won some money!! I'm not a poker person, but when we go to the bahamas I play 3-card poker in the casino and enjoy it!
DH & I got up @ 430am and drove over to Hernando Beach (its about 2.5 hrs/100 miles) from us. We started fishing around 8am and got back at 4pm. We had an absolute blast. The boat Capt is one of my dads friends. He took us out and we fished in some really shallow water (the flats)....I only caught 2 stanky catfish... No red fish =( Oh well. There is never a guarentee that you are going to catch what you are going after.. After we fished in the flats for a while we went further out into the ocean and fished for some bigger fish- whatever would bite basically. We caught a bunch of sharks...a bunch. probably 10. They are SO MUCH FUN to catch!!!! The fight so hard ¬ to mention sharks are my favorite animal so i was on cloud 9, loving it!!! We caught a couple of trout, DH caught a big trout 23.5 inches...(my biggest trout is 24.25 inches, so i still win!!) and i caught a smaller trout, we took them home and we ate them for dinner tonight YUM!!!.....I caught my first SeaBass...not really exciting but it was still a first! ...Ohh and the funniest thing was DH falling off the side of the boat.. He had a shark on his line and he went to step backwards to hand me the rod and to make a long detailed story short he ended up falling of the side of the boat-i tried to grab ahold of him but i was afraid he'd pull me in with him so I just let go..dang it was hilarious!!! He lost his sunglasses so that stinks but oh well...We had an awesome awesome awesome!!! time and we can not wait to go again!!!!
So we got home at about 7......we took a shower and were sitting around watching TV...stupid me got online and I was looking at fishing reports for our fave place to fish _sebastian inlet_.......they were bringing in HUGE fish...so i'm reading these reports to DH and showing him pictures....he jumps up and gets his fishing clothes on....i said where are you going? He said fishing? LOL ohkay....soo we got dressed again, packed our fishing stuff and headed to Sebastian.....which is on the east coast and another 100 miles from where we live... .......we got skunked in sebastian. we didn't catch crap. DH got hooked up with a huge sting ray but he broke it loose..... We got home about 11am this morning...We slept in the truck from about 12:30am -4am.. We were so tired we couldn't stand it anymore so we slept as good as you can sleep in a single cab pick up truck!!!
By time we got home this morning we had driven 400 miles to go fishing this weekend, we fished both the West Coast of FL & the East Coast of FL all in one day. LOL...we LOVE fishing!!!!
so as you can imagine we came home and slept for a few hours and i've been trying to clean up around the house....i'm pooped!!!!
There are some pics in my blog!
Sounds like a lot of fun. I miss fishing. My dad and uncle used to fish in tournaments and we used to fish a lot in the summers. (and ice fishing in the winters too) I've never fished in the ocean tho, only in lakes. But I haven't been fishing in a long time.?
One time when I was like 5, and I was ice fishing with my dad, I had my own little kiddie rod in my own little hole and my dad had his not far from mine. There were quite a few people fishing, and dad taught me to watch for the bobber to go down and then pull up on the rod to set the hook and reel it in. I guess it was getting late in the afternoon and no one around us had really had good luck with the fish. Well, I got like a 5 pound rainbow trout. I set the hook and started reeling it in and had to call my dad to help me, but it was the biggest fish anyone had got that day!
DH and I definitely want to get a boat at some point in the future. ?
That is an awesome story! I have a picture of me when i was about 3 or 4. im' standing on my papas dock, i have my little red & white fishin pole, i have a hat on, a white tank top and pink shorts, and i have a little fish on my rod. its so cute, lol. I love that pic of myself!!!!
I have never been ice fishing, not sure how I would fair in that cold...i'm a big ol' wuss, i HATE the cold! I do not enjoy bundling up to fish, i need to be in my swimsuit!
Sounds like you had a great weekend.
Friday, DH and I just stayed in and watched TV.
Saturday, I got up super early and got my hair cut, bought a dress for the cruise and for my friends wedding (at least I hope it's the one I will wear). I then picked up my mom and we went to my friends wedding shower. It was a lot of fun. After that we went and picked up DH and drove an hour to see my nieces dance recital. It was the most adorable thing I have ever seen. She is only 4 and she did such a great job! After that we went back to my sisters and had dinner. Everytime we tried to leave it started raining, so eventually we just left, dropped off my mom and went home where I passed out in my DH's arms.
Sunday we got up did grocery shopping and then went out to eat breakfast. After that we took a little drive on the beach and went to Target to get a few things we needed/wanted. I came home and baked a yummy cake in honor my grandfathers birthday on the 13th (it was a little late but it still got made). DH and I just bummed around the rest of the day and watched movies.
Sounds like the fishing was fun, though I'm sorry you didn't get your red fish...
Saturday was my friend's wedding. Of course she was a beautiful bride and the ceremony was lovely (about 65% in Vietnamese though which made it hard to follow). Then she had the dreaded Catholic break in between the mass and the reception, which I personally am glad that DH and I avoided because it sucks. So the reception was nice, but it was a pretty generic Asian wedding reception, though as someone who recently planned a wedding I think it was not done with the guests' comfort in mind. We had to wait forever (literally hours) for the food to be served, the music was blaring (and we were sitting in the back) and I think they squeezed too many people into the space. But, my friend and her new husband were so happy and cute, so it was pretty sweet overall.
Sunday I went to the Seattle Premium Outlet mall with some friends and picked up a few things including this ludicrous new Coach bag that I love
I also got some new shorts for my new time in San Diego. Then we went over to one of the nearby Indian casinos for some fun and dinner. Overall it was a pretty relaxing and fun weekend!
ooo I love Coach! I have a awesome coach bag that I love! I went to an outlet mall and i got the most amazing deal ever....it was regularly 400something...i paid $90!! Seriously!!! I called DH, who was FI @ the time, and i was like BABE THIS BAG IS SUCH A DEAL I HAVE TO HAVE IT....he said no.....i was pissed....then just as i was walking to my car to leave he called me back and said i could have the bag I WAS THE HAPPIEST BRIDE TO BE ALIVE!!! lol!!! it was a great moment!
