Hi! I saw your post below about your husband wanting a lab. We have a 3-yr-old, 100-lb. yellow lab/golden retriever. I totally understand your reservations...

As a puppy, we were exhausted trying to keep up with him - unending energy, needing constant attention, staying alert for potty signals, etc. Now that our dog is a little older, he still has a ton of energy, but he's much more calm - he listens really well, and he literally keeps me company when my H is at work (working odd and long hours). I couldn't imagine life without our dog, even if it means sweeping everyday (it's shedding season!), vacuuming constantly, and always changing our AirWick plug-ins (I'm a clean freak!) One of the biggest pluses of our house, though, is that we have a fenced-in backyard so he can go potty and run around by himself, and we don't have to be with him.

A doggy trial is a great idea! GL!
