Re: *****A Healthy You Check-in*****
QOTW: How do you motivate yourself to get back on the wagon when you've fallen off (either with exercising or diet)? I try to remind myself of the goals that I have, and how I can't reach them unless I keep going
Please name at least one thing that you are proud of yourself for this past week. got through my HSG... totally not fitness related but oh well
Any goals for this upcoming week? To get back on the wagon
QOTW: How do you motivate yourself to get back on the wagon when you've fallen off (either with exercising or diet)? Start the next day with a clean slate. We all have our weaknesses and one day off the wagon wont' kill us.
Please name at least one thing that you are proud of yourself for this past week. 1 week with no fried food at all or frozen meals at work (this is a challenge for me! I hate to pack my lunch)
Any goals for this upcoming week? To make healthy foods for my family's Memorial Day picinic and NOT eat all the crap the rest of my family will bring. (I've already been informed that we're having "fried Friday" with a fried turkey etc and ribs on Saturday and hot sausage on Monday... It's like a bad for you meat bonanza!!!)
QOTW: How do you motivate yourself to get back on the wagon when you've fallen off (either with exercising or diet)? I tell myself that it's happened before and I've also gotten back on the wagon and went from the size I am (again) to a size 5-7.
Please name at least one thing that you are proud of yourself for this past week. After a few days of being sick I've built my endurance, today I noticed I can do cardio for 16 minutes...I probably could have done more but I don't want to over do it since I've made it this far...
Any goals for this upcoming week? Continue to do 15+ minute workouts and really try to alternate cardio and weight training to different days....I will probably burn out too quickly if I continue that.
QOTW: My doctor helped me this time...I haven't worked out in a few weeks other than a stroll around the neighborhood and playing with the dogs in the yard. My bp is still high and the doctor told me not to be afraid to work up a sweat and that I needed to get some more activity so I have gone and done 30 minutes on the elliptical the past two days. Usually DH helps me. His mom is in terrible health (she's 62 and has had a pacemaker for several years, heart disease, diabetes, breathing problems, was wheelchair bound but has been moving around some since losing a little weight but still really needs to lose some more. DH was also overweight but lost 60 lbs about 3-4 years ago so his committment keeps me going. I also help kick him in the butt a little bit when he needs it too.
Proud of: I am 32 weeks pregnant and I was still able to hop right on the elliptical and do 30 minutes of pretty vigorous pace.
Goal: Get back to the gym 4-5 times including today. I also want to start swimming this week because I know at some point, my stomach is gonna get too big to jiggle up and down on the elliptical.
QOTW: I try not to fall off the wagon, firstly. lol. but I try to remember how good I feel after a good meal or a good workout - and also after a bad meal! It's gotten easier now that I have 3 jobs and 3 places to workout and summer coming (summer is huge motivation for me).
one thing: I lost two pounds! hopefully it will be more tomorrow! (weigh-in day is tuesday for me)
goals: gym twice a week and karate twice a week, and at least one home-cooked meal a week. emphasis on salads and protein. maybe break out the blender and start working on some smoothies for breakfast! mmm, banana smoothie...

QOTW: How do you motivate yourself to get back on the wagon when you've fallen off (either with exercising or diet)? I try to think of how good I feel when I'm sticking to eating right and working out, also of how good I felt about myself when I've seen the results of my hard work. Also I remember that you will always have a bad day (or week) sometimes, the important thing is to move on from it and not let that stop you from your long term goal.
Please name at least one thing that you are proud of yourself for this past week. I feel like weekends have been my down fall, I eat really good during the week and work out in the mornings before work but on weekends I treat it like a free-for-all and eat so much junk. This past weekend I made an effort to watch what I ate and try to scale it back a little.
Any goals for this upcoming week? To try to keep my weekend in control as much as possible, with the long holiday weekend I know there will be lots of oppertunity to eat junk but I'm going to try to be as good as I can.
Just to let everyone know I found a great breakfast to make (I was tired of my oatmeal everyday and needed a change), I've been making egg sandwiches. I use a lite english muffin and make the egg in the microwave (use a small dish and cook for 30 seconds stir and cook for about 30 more seconds), they are so good and so filling.
