Hey this is about that wedding invitation you asked about. My DH is hispanic and we were married in a full Catholic mass. We had a wedding like that. It is pretty common practice in his family. Our food was between the ceremony and dancing. But we did the cake and traditional stuff during the dancing. If it says reception to follow then I would imagine that is when they would serve food.

Thanks! I guess I have just never seen a 12 hour wedding so it took both DH and I a little off guard. It seems like with a 12 hour wedding there would be 2 meals in there! I guess it is very possible that that is more normal in her family than DH's.
It is in Bryan and DH's parents live in Austin and we don't really want to pay for a hotel so we were planning on driving the hour or so back to their house to stay. And we know that we can always leave before the dancing is over if we needed to.
No problem! I know, I figured my family would think it was crazy because that is not how we do it. I knew only because I had been to several weddings with DH. But it ended up working out well.
I wouldn't stay the whole time if I were you either, with the hour drive back to where you are staying the night. Hope you have fun!
